Tie Dyed Kite Cookies

Hey, I think I remembered correctly that y'all use the Kite??

I found a cute recipe in Quick Cooking mag. They look like sugar cookies in the shape of a kite with pink, green and blue gel food coloring.

The "string" is red shoestring licorice and Life Savers candies.

PM me if you want the recipe.

I'm no cook so I don't know if these are easy or hard to make, lol.

Okay, I've received 3 responses, lol. So to save y'all time/effort in emailing me, lol.

Tie-Dyed Cookies
Makes about 2 Doz (think you need more than that, lol)

1 tube (10z) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
2 to 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Pink, green and blue gel food coloring
24-28 pieces red shoestring licorice ( 9.5 inches each)
48-56 Life Savers candies
1/2 cup vanilla frosting

Cut cookie dough in half; refrigerate half of dough.
On a lightly floured surface, knead 1-2 tablespoons of flour into remainng dough until dough is stiff. Plress into a 5-in circle. Top with 1 dot of each food coloring; knead 5-10 times or until color just begins to swirl.

Roll out dough to 1/8-in thickness. Cut with a floured 3-in diamond-shaped cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Repeat with remaining dough.

Turn cookies bottom side up. For each cookie, lace one piece of licorice through 1 Life Saver; loop the licorice through the Life Saver again to hold the candy in place. Repeat with 2nd LS (The pic had both LS the same color but you could switch).

Attach kite tails to the back of each cookie with frosting. Let stand until set (tails will be heavy).

Thanks for the recipe, Lynn!
Those sound so cute, I think I'm going to have to give them a shot and bring them up to the chapter the next time I go.
