Gannon University |
This is the first time in years Elon hasn't made the list :(
|
I always heard UT-Austin's scene was pretty weak.
|
SUNY at Albany is the #1 party school, which is where I was going to go (had a full ride, too!) but decided on a smaller, more tame school.
I sent the link to my mom and she replied that I should have gone there so I wasn't a bad influence on everyone here.:( |
I am surprised IU did not make that list.
|
What? No University of Washington or Washington State? This is BS!
|
I would assume it's based on the # of greeks in correlation with the # of students. For instance, Bucknell is a small school, but nearly half of them are Greek, so it gets a better ranking.
|
This list is NOT based on anything quantitative. Princeton Review passes out surveys at campus locations and the results are based on the ones that are filled out and turned in. It's not scientific or even random, and at good-sized schools they may get surveys back from one-tenth of one-percent of the student body.
In other words, it's entirely likely the DePauw students who happened to fill this survey were a bunch of DKEs who gave their system a 10 out of 10 (let's say), while the W&L students, whose school is Greeker than FAMU or Bucknell by any measure, happened to include a couple of angry GDIs so the system got an average score of 9 out of 10. |

As a sidebar, someone on Clarion's message board was upset about a very negative review of the school on one of those ranking sites. I pointed out that since Penn State and Penn State University were being interpreted on this site as two different schools it probably wasn't too reliable. |
best greek schools?
based on forty plus years observing and over 300 campuses visited, not to speak of reading various mags and ratings...
I find no one has a clue.. this has never been defined. and lots of them, like U of CO, are hardly what many would call a party school....there are so very many small private schools where greek % is high, but perhaps throwing up on the Beta lawn or pissing on the Pike porch is not..you get the picture. it is more than likely a personal matter as to which school is the best for greeks and/or parties. musical chairs, losing houses, kicked off campus for who-knows-what, all have a bearing on the profile. Criteria for selection are lacking, and perhaps it is just as well, as being so-ranked is the kiss of death for some. and, the scene changes quickly even in those cited. Just my two cents. |
Miami University dropped off the list? i'm sad.
|
Uf :)
I would have to say UF has a good greek seen.. Good girls and guys,,, Part of the reason I go to UF for the greek scene
