Blind Date
Ok so I'm opening up a can of worms...what's your blind date story??...I've been on one blind date and it was with an elemetary teacher that was friends with a co-worker...everything seemed ok but she ended up being a flake!!!...oh well...from what I've heard most blind dates never work but I have met a handful of people that are happily married as a result from a blind date...currently, a business partner that works in my company wants to hook me up on a blind date...round two???...haven't decided....she sounds great but you never know.

In high school one of my lifelong best friends insisted on setting me up on a date with this "totally great guy" she knew from school or whatever. I agreed to it, and I still don't know why I did, but anyway.
I go on a date with this kid and I keep bringing up stuff to talk about as we're waiting for the movie to start and he isn't answering anything! He just keeps bringing up totally unrelated stuff and starting new conversations. I was appalled at how rude he was being. Well I was until sometime during the movie I look over at him and notice he has a hearing aid in one ear. I had NO idea that he couldn't hear out of that ear, I felt like the biggest dumbass in the entire world. And I chewed my friend out for forgetting to tell me that, b/c um hi yeah that's kind of an important detail. That was my first and last blind date, never ever again. |
My parents are the result of a blind date. They've been together almost 30 years now.

I'm not really one for "blind dates" but if someone wants to "introduce" you to someone in a setting where everyone is around with "no major expectations" then that is okay. That's how I met my current boyfriend;) My sorority sister wanted to introduce us for the longest but it never worked due to conflicts in our schedules. He came to my graduation party and initially, we didn't like each other, but as we continued to hang out at mutual parties and events and stuff, I guess, the rest you can say is history.
|
I met this guy once through one of my sisters who swore that he was just the nicest kid. EVAR.
We went to get drinks, hit up a house party. His friends talked to me more than he did....and then he put special K in my drink and dropped me off in the lobby of my sorority house, alone at 11:30. Someone found me around 9 am trying to crawl up the stairs to go to my room and took me to the ER. BLINDDATESAREFUN!!!1  |

Thanks for everyone's feedback...this weekend will be my third blind date experience...not counting on anything happening but look forward to having a good time!!! !

Jules-
I'm sorry :( That is an awful story. What an awful guy. I am always surprised when people think it is ok to do things like that. -Michelle |
Jules-
That doesnt make sense. With Special K, you cant orally digest it or else you'll vomit immediately until you're fine. You either snort it while in its powder form after you've cooked it up or inject it with a seringe. It wont do anything to you if you drink it. |

Ketamine can most certainly be ingested orally... ... however usually it is put into suspension (instead of "cooked" or in powder form). Also, tests for Ketamine usually aren't pharmocologically specific (it's the same test for GHB, IIRC), so the doctor may have interpolated Ketamine from other physical symptoms (ie hypertension etc). Sorry to get clinical on Jules' post here, but the 'K makes you puke until you're fine' myth, while 90% true under the doses people take orally, doesn't prevent it from going in a drink, which while not dangerous for Craig's recreational purposes, can be pretty f-ed up for, say, a girl on a blind date. |
Not exactly a blind date since we went to the same high school, but I was set up with a guy I didn't know, and we got married right after college. Best thing I ever did, we have a great relationship, I'm really lucky.

lol.....i only tried it twice by drinking it. Both times I puked and was fine right after. Same went for my friends that did the same. Personally, I think she was slipped G. |
The half life of GHB isn't long enough to mess you up for 9 hours.
Lots of drugs out there though. Ground up xanax coupled with a decent amount of alcohol could account for memory loss. Quote:

Ok seriously who cares what specific drug it was, she had something put into her drink, end of story! I've had the same thing happen to me before and I don't remember any of that night but the next morning was the scariest of my whole life. This thread is about BLIND DATES not what drug Jules was slipped and the effects of different date rape drugs.
Sorry for being bitchy but this just bothers me. |
