Finding a job

I've just finished my master's degree and I'm now looking for "real work". I know that I should be applying everywhere, but my interests seem to be in areas that are predominantly female. Since my social life right now doesn't include a lot of men (other than at socials involving the political campaign I'm with and dinners and fundraisers. The latter, and to a certain extent, the former, is with the same group of people. It's not that I'm tired of them, but I'd also like to meet new people), I'm a little hesitant to send resumes to places that are mostly female. I don't want to be "trapped" and become one of those single girls in chicklit novels who complain about not being in a relationship. Yes, I know that I really should get involved with someone I work with, but at the same time, it would be kind of nice if I could meet someone...

I think it's more important to find a job that's the right fit for you, no matter what the office population is. If you don't apply everywhere, you'll be mad at yourself in a few years for not taking the opportunity to do what you really want to do, while you're still free to do it. Good luck!

I think it's best to send those resumes out everywhere. The best programs I have worked for were one's where initially I had no clue about the populations I would be dealing with. I learned the most from these experiences. I also am one of those people that really feels it is easier to make friends OUTSIDE of the workplace. I like the seperation and not "talking shop" once I leave for the day.
