Vote for Change

Too bad the tour only goes on in the battle ground states.

That sounds interesting! They should hold concerts in all 50 states, not just the key battleground ones.

I was reading about this yesterday...I couldn't think of anything like this happening before, where a group of musicians is touring to oust a President.

However it doesn't sound like they're endorsing Kerry either...they're more aligned with the "anyone but Bush" crowd.

Seems like celebrities have taken more of an interest this year than in past years.

Well some support Kerry, and some support anyone but Bush. Half of these folks were at a benefit for Kerry along with the actors that Bush made a protest about.

I really hope that nobody actually votes or doesn't vote for either candidate because any celebrity throws his/her/their weight behind said candidate.

But some will.

Famous show business people are entitled to have and express opinions -- but those aren't necessarily any more informed than anyone else's. They just have an easier shot at mass exposure.

I think it's really sad that celebrities are so irresponsible with their clout. They know good and well that a bunch of people will go vote whatever way they publicize just because P. Diddy or Bruce Springsteen thinks it right.

Awesome!! I'm very excited to see such public faces behind a good cause!

(I suppose it goes without saying that I am a democrat. Vive Kerry!)

Who is being irresponsible and how?

The celebrities are only responsible for upholding their image. Being involved in the electoral process enhances their image.

Media companies want ratings. Covering celebrities voicing their opinions on the electoral process gets ratings. Therefore, they are being responsible.

The only folks that are irresponsible in this situation are the idiots that listen to the celebrities and allow their opinions to be swayed by these celebrities.

Honestly, I don't think there are that many Americans that decided to vote for Kerry because Ben Affleck said so.
