Viera sold to Real Madrid for 35 million Euro

Sad day to be a gunner fan. They sold arguably the best defensive midfielder in the game right now.

First Beckham, now Viera. Talk about buying a team!!!

Yeah, and they still couldn't win La Liga nor the Champions League with this "super" team of Galacticos......

Glory Glory Man United!

i think their super team just has yet to come together and gel... plus thats really hard to do for so many super players... look at Shaq and Kobe they disentigrated after they were both super stars

Yeah...too bad they don't have that working class philosophy, kinda....like the Pats :D

I notice that the more Sir Alex strays away from Man U's natural talent and tries to bring in outside notable Euros and South Americans, they've slipped farther away from success.

He found gems in Old Gunner Solsjkaer and Dwight Yorke, but brinigng them in already established isn't working...

On a related news, Sven Erikson's future is being debated even as we speak.

Soccer clubs go through managers more than George Steinbrenner.......

It's kinda ridiculous some of the petty, cosmetic reasons I've seen managers leave/get sacked. It wasn't Sven's fault David Beckham decided to kick a field goal into the Lisbon stands. It wasn't Sven's fault the stupid ref called a foul for something I've NEVER seen called at the international level (except Landon Donovan in the World Cup, but Americans just never get the calls in their favor...cause they're the US.).

Now, I'm not going to blame the ref or JUST Becks, but, it can't be solely the coach, which has to be the scapegoat in often an unfair situation.

Dick Advocaat, on the other hand.....is another story.

The whole discussion centers around the whole secretary mess that is making a mess of the entire English FA. I doubt he would be let go because it would cost the FA way too much money.

Can you fill me in on that?

Thanks man, that was interesting to say the least.

Who would replace him? Maybe they can get Ruud Gullitt hahaha

The Viera story is premature. Now I've read that he is still deciding wether or not to go to Real Madrid. Wenger has told him that he has until friday to decide what he want to do. There are reports that Viera will be a Real Madrid by Thursday. We'll find out soon.

Another news, Real Madrid might be on their way to acquiring Michael Owen. Owen's negotiation with liverpool has collapse and Real Madrid is making noise about how they want him. Why on earth would Owen want to be off the bench? Real Madrid already have Raul, Ronaldo, Portillo and Morientes.

Viva Barça! [/starting a soccer war...] :D

Patrick Viera will stay with Arsenal. However, Michael Owen will be going to Real Madrid.

You know, every time this thread comes up I think it's about Meredith Viera.
