Pref And Eyeliner

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this question, but I decided to put it here, because it is Rush-related. I got to thinking about this when I was practicing my part for Pref, and I was wondering if anybody had any advice for me. I KNOW that I'll be crying at Pref, because I cry over just about anything. (I got teary-eyed just practicing my own part by myself!) I'm a huge fan of liquid eyeliner, but the kind I use starts running at just the thought of any kind of moisture. The last thing I want is to be speaking in front of all the PNMs (and later Preffing one of them) with raccoon eyes! So can anyone recommend some good waterproof liquid liner? Or is "waterproof liquid liner" an oxymoron? Help me out here, ladies! :D

I'm not so sure about waterproof liquid eyeliner, but I definitely recommend waterproof mascara, since that's what causes the most "raccoon" problems. :)

go to google and the click on the Froogle link and type in waterproof eyeliner. A bunch of results should pop up with prices:)

I don't have any recommendations for eyeliner.

As for mascara, I have to co-sign JocelynC. Max Factor makes an excellent one called aqualash. I've used it for a long time and it stays on through everything - rain, ocean water, pool water...the only thing that takes it off is makeup remover or mineral oil (baby oil, too, but its pretty much mineral oil).

ETA: try to find one without water in the ingredients. those are the ones with real waterproof staying power :D

Why not just get an eyeliner pencil, or skip the eyeliner and mascara altogether? If you don't want to buy a pencil for just one occasion, maybe you can borrow from one of your sisters.

If you do decide to use liquid eyeliner, test it before pref. Put some on, practice your part so that you're crying :) or just splash a lot of water on your face, and see what happens. You don't want to find out the hard way at pref that your "waterproof" eyeliner... wasn't.

I LOVE my eyeliner, and the stuff stays on forever, even through tears. Seriously, I've fallen asleep with it on and the next morning its still on perfectly. Its not exactly a liquid, but its not a pencil either.

And definitely get some waterproof mascara. For mascara I prefer plain old Maybelline.

I am also a big fan of liquid eyeliner, since pencils end up smudging under my eyes. I have tried everything, and the only product that stays put is Make Up For Ever's waterproof liquid eyeliner. It's expensive, but worth every penny. Here's a link to the product at the Sephora website:

I use Clinique powder eyeliner and have never had a problem with smearing or running.

Clinique also has a cake eyeliner that is water resistant.

I flinched when I saw the price of this, but I think I'm going to order it anyway! The thing about pencils smudging is the exact reason I don't use them. I wish I could just go through Pref without eyeliner/mascara, but I feel naked without my eye makeup. Even shadow alone isn't enough for me. Thanks for the recommendations, everyone!

MAC pencil liner in engraved is good. Even though it is a pencil, it goes on like liquid. The price is reasonable too.

good luck on your search...
