I've heard of Twilo, but of course, never went. ;) Still, I'm not sure why everyone loves trance but to each their own! :D Me on the other hand, I'm a house-head that loves techno, two-step, and hardcore too! |
Actually, Sasha is traditionally known for his progressive style....not his "yuppie" trance. And lately (the past 8 months) he's been playing more of a progressive breaks Florida flavor sound. I don't know if it has anything to do with him living here now...but I do know the people in the UK and in Europe are loving it. This week he's playing in Amersterdam and in Ibizza@ club Pacha.
As for being played out, rudey, thats like saying BB King is played out in the Blues scene. There aint no fucking way he'll ever be played out. Oakie's problem hit when he went too main stream. You don't see Sasha having his own Radio show or his own record label ( Digweed does but thats irrelevant). You don't see him giving mad interviews to everyone who'll listen, like Oakie. Hell, you don't even see Sasha making soundtracks for movies, like Oakie. True, he does make CDs...but mainly he just plays on tour. He makes $30,000+ every gig and usually plays 1-3 gigs a week. Jenn, which CD are you talking about? I know some people that still think Air Drawn Dagger is his "new" cd. |

Twilo....shame on Gulianni for shutting her down. Him and Digweed were residents there. Thats back when they were all about the deep, dark, heart pounding bass filled progressive trance that fucked you up if you were sober. God I miss those days. |

Well, in that case.....Overall I felt this was a courageous move for Sasha and one that I could relate to. To be frank, while the rest of the world loved communicate that album alienated me a bit. The sounds here are voluptous if thats possible for you to understand. Warm and thick and the layering is wonderful. The lower BPM let the music flow freely and for me really made the CD. The mixing was flawless. Track two is beautiful, shpongle gave him alot to work with and it came out amazing. For me the last three tracks make the CD. Especially the last track, the guitar sounds are amazing and it brings a rock element that is completely synthesized and marvelous. Overall a 4.5 or a 5. (keep in mind, though, I hear a lot of music) |
Here's a little something you might want to listen to.
Enjoy. :D You're welcome. http://kcrw.com/cgi-bin/ram_wrap.cgi?/mt/mt040705Sasha |
