Why I Love L.A.
Yeah I stole this idea from the NY & Chicago threads. However, things are so compact here in CA that I shall also mention stuff that's near the L.A. area.
Los Angeles Dodgers! I was born bleeding blue & I shall die bleeding Dodger Blue! Disneyland! I have an annual passport so I'm always there. I can avoid the crowds of tourists & come and go as I please. Sometimes, I'll go & not get on any rides. I'll just people watch & eat at one of the outdoor cafe's in New Orleans Square. Knotts Scary Farm - Only comes once a year but it's worth it. The theme park is good but the best time to go, in my opinion, is around Halloween! I go once a year every year on October 30. Come join me! Magic Mountain - I used to do this on a yearly basis but now I've gotten over the whole roller coaster thing but it's always worth a trip to see how many times you can ride Goliath before throwing up. Beaches - At any beach, you'll find something to do besides tanning out & watching the surfers. We have too many to name so I'll just leave it at that. Weather - What weather? Our weather is mostly mild so it's all good! |
yeah for L.A.!!!
i'm gonna add to your list casigkap: tommy's... yeah you'd die from a heart attack from all the grease, but nothing beats a tommy's chili burger and chili cheese fries! location... you can drive for an hour and be in snow (the mountains), drive for another hour and be in the desert, or drive to the beach and stand at the brink of the pacific ocean! with the exception of pro football, we have all the other major pro sports here. and our college level teams are pretty damn good too! hollywood! do i even have to go into that? i mean, we are the main spot for all the movies and tv shows. we're not as compacted as other cities, where we're actually able to see the sky... granted it's smog-ridden, but we can still see it! there's so much more, i can't even think of all of them! "I LOVE L.A!!!" |

Here's my reasons... If you live outside LA but in SoCal, you're probably only an hour (maybe an hour and a half) away from anything you want to do... The culture, history, and the classic things you can find out about LA and SoCal in general... The old movie, TV, and music history... No one else has a sidewalk that's so much fun. I could roam the Walk of Fame in Hollywood for hours... Santa Monica... period... |
Driving around with no specific destination & still have lots to see.
San Diego! Granted it's not L.A. but it's a 2 hour drive & it's awesome to see Old Town San Diego, the San Diego Zoo with their beautiful pandas, and Sea World! Tommy's Burgers again! I used to go to school in Cerritos & had one next door. Louis Burgers. This place is in Compton but once you've tasted their cheeseburger & fries, nothing else will ever taste as good! The diversity. So many ethnicities, religions, and languages. It's awesome to know that I live in the middle of so much! Olvera Street. The best place to learn about the history of California Latinos. Plus, eat at Golondrinas for some phenomenal Mexican food. Vim's - This restaurant has the most incredible Thai food! Yum-yum! |

You should thank Walter O'Malley, the owner of Brooklyn Dodger who moved it to Los Angeles in the 50s . He was a member of our fraternity. :D |
Seriously??? I did not know that. I am really interested to know what other members of the Dodger family have been in fraternities.
