i have a question
Hi everyone, I just join greekchat.com and this will be the first message I have ever posted on any message board. First let me give a little background, I am a sophomore at Millsaps College in Jackson, Ms where I am a Phi Mu. I am originally from Tuscaloosa Al. My question is do any of you have African American members of your Phi Mu chapters?

Race and Ethnicity were not a criteria for membership selection, content of a person's character was. |
Phi Mu at the University of Florida is one of the few Panhellenic chapters on our campus who do have African American members. I would say about 5 of the 16 Panhellenic chapters have African American members. Every chapter does have a mix of Indian, Spanish/Latino and Asian women. I think that even in the past 5 years being a greek minority has become less and less of a big deal at UF. We do have 4 greek councils at UF, Panhellenic, Interfraternity Council, National Pan Hellenic Council, and the Multi Cultural Greek Council. We have all of the divine 9 representing the National Pan Hellenic Council and many asian and latino Multicultural Greek Groups. While some Panhellenic chapters may not be as accepting, there is a great chapter for every man and women to join at the University of Florida.

we did at my collegiate chapter, too.......
the thing is, we can't give you a bid if you don't rush :D |
My roomie sophomore year in the Phi Mu house was black. We had more Latinas than anything, though.

and we had a lot of Indian-American women. It really does depend on the makeup of your school.
