NPHC Pledge "club" names?
 

I know that "clubs" are sometimes used for NPHC fraternities to symbolize pledge classes. I am looking for a complete list of the Club names. What I have currently is
Alpha Phi Alpha: Sphinx Club
Alpha Kappa Alpha: Ivy Club
Kappa Alpha Psi: Scroller Club
Delta Sigma Theta: Pyramid Club(?)

I don't have names for the other members of the Noble Nine. (Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Iota Phi Theta)

Are these terms still used? Am I properly referring to them as names for the pledge classes?

for AKA, the Sorority had the Ivy Leaf Pledge Club. those are no longer in existence:)

SGRho used to have the Aurora Club. Each pledge was referred to as Aurora then her line name. I was Aurora Persephone :) .

NPHC organizations no longer have pledge clubs, but when they did exist the names were:
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated- Archonian Club
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated- Cresent Club
Omega Psi Phi- Lampadost Club

Do any one know the one for Sigma Gamma Rho?

As someone else stated, we no longer have these clubs since there is no more pledging. And for what may I ask is this information for?

Yeah, this is the second thread I have seen asking this question from two different people. What is this for????? There has been some interesting things going on around GC lately....

I am sending ((hugs)) to all the NPHC members on greekchat! You sure are getting swarmed these past few days!

*shaking my head* It amazes me too that people will ask you questions and have the nerve to get an attitude when you ask why the information is needed. LOL...I am trying to keep cool :cool::cool:but some of this is getting a bit ridiculous:rolleyes::rolleyes:...

What has puzzled me as I observe all these posters is that they are able to do *some* sort of search that leads them to greekchat.com, but yet, they can't seem to do a search for the info. they want? :confused:

Yesss!!! Exactly. L-A-Z-Y!!!!!!!!!!! The energy used to try to go back and forth on here; they could have used that energy to actually put in W-O-R-K to find it else where! Dang, it ain't worth it if you ain't gotta do sh*t for it (sorry...I had to get West Tennessean on 'em;))! And some don't even get the hint when their questions are NOT getting answered on a PUBLIC forum...there may be a reason. And all of the answers sure as hayle are not on the internet! Wheeeew....okay, I'm cool now:D.

Just a related tangent about this....

So I joined GC in 2001. I was also active on BlackPlanet. When it came to "research"... you know what I did? FIRST, I talked to Alphas I knew in real life! Then when THEY told me "Do your research" (and it was never in a condescending way, either) of course I went to the internet first. And you know what I found?

*BeeJae's website (which gave me a perspective about HAZING with all of the news stories.... and ALSO somewhat of a perspective of how to get to know members)

*Skip's Historical Moments (and I am honored to KNOW Skip now)

*Thorough biographies of the Jewels


And the deeper I looked.... the SMARTER I researched, I found archived news articles about my chapter of interest!

And in the past four years, look what else has changed:

*Black Greek 101 was released
*African American Fraternities and Sororities: The Legacy and the Vision was released
*Black Haze was released
*Stomp the Yard came out
*The special edition DVD of School Daze came out

A lot of people say aspirants are more lazy NOW because of the internet -- hell, there are three more books out NOW than there were just four years ago and people STILL want to be spoon fed the answers!

As I said earlier, when people told me to "do your research" they did so because they wanted me to learn and APPRECIATE the "jewels" of knowledge I picked up along the way. (Cuz believe it or not, when you really know some things in advance, it helps you separate fact from legend, but that's another story)
