Avon

Does anyone know anything about selling Avon products? I've gotten quite a few emails from sisters who have started their own business doing this because they are at-home mom's now. Can you really make money this way and on average, how much a month? Just curious :)

While I can't say for Avon how much you make, I do know from my mom looking into being a Creative Memories Consultant, the money is based on comission from sales. So it just really depends on how much your sales are.

Also, from what my mom has said, most companies operate on a 30% commission. That seems to be the home business standard. Also I think you get money if you recruit people under you, at least CM is that way.

One thing that my mom saw was a prob with CM was taxes. Some of the consultants weren't necessarily paying all they should and the company didn't seem helpful in filing federal and state, but that could just be a CM thing.

Meet Mark by Avon seems to be a big thing for both collegiate and alumni women.

Never been to an Avon party though, just Mary Kay, CM and Partylite.

Off topic but: I just bought the Avon Skin-so-soft Bug Guard Plus if that counts. I highly recommend buying this product over Off!

Unless you like pesticides.

I like my pesticides.

I've used this before. It doesn't work. At least it doesn't work for me. It was actually useless. It would have been better to go with any repelent.

Avon doesn't really have parties though. The way they do it is they have catalogs...there's a new one every couple weeks or so. You place your order and the stuff comes in a week or so later. They also have kiosks in some malls staffed by consultants, and there is a really fancy Avon Center in Trump Tower in NYC (complete with a full spa!)

That would be the way I'd want to do it...consultants pay for the catalogs, and then they only order the products that people actually order. (My friend is a Mary Kay consultant, though not super active, but she has to order an unbelievable amount of product...she has to have at least some of every product the company has in stock at any given point, even if no one's ordered certain things in a long time, in case someone wants to order it. Any waiting time=BAD.)

I have never been an Avon rep but I order a ton of it. I love the stuff and they have some amazing deals.

Hehe, works for me. I agree w/ Off! being great. I just go with Avon because it's cheaper than Off! and it has a very faint chemical scent opposed to the deet of Off!, lol. Ahh the smell of N,N-diethylmeta-toluamide.

One of my co-workers sells Avon. I can check with her to see exactly how much she actually makes.

I see Avon! Please visit my site http://www.youravon.com/kyoung5404/ if you are in need of a rep or if you would like to become a rep. You can make really good money selling the products especially the Mark products!
