I just wanted to know what was the point when you realized being

PURPLE and GOLD
was the best decision you could have ever made?

So many times, but I think overall, I am seeing now as an alumna the benefits of belonging to our organization AFTER college. I've met so many great people this way when I moved to NY. I have drifted away from a lot of the people I was close to in undergrad due to distance and changes in our lives but DPhiE still remains important to me. I also think I mentioned this before, but I pledged late as a Junior after transferring to New Paltz so I feel like I missed out on a lot of the experience of sorority/undergrad life.

There have definetly been numerous times that i realized i made a great choice.
but i feel it the most when my chapter or I has accomplished something we put our heart into. Its great when you have done something productive and your wearing your letters on a T or a Jacket and people ask what org. your apart of

i knew this group was special from day one...

they were genuine, sincere, and full of heart!

i have to add that i continuously become more and more proud to be a dphie...

its the little things that make this mean the world to me... an email, a post, a license plate tag...

the more sisters i meet from around the nation the more i love this organization and how it ties us all together...

There have been plenty of times.

Like when I started school I decided to wait on the sorority thing. I wasn't impressed with the local. Then, my girls broke off and formed DPhiE.

When I went to the first day of COB events it felt right. Then the next "hit" would be finally becoming a chapter. The colony process was a huge struggle and those of us that stuck with it, really felt like everything we went through was worth it.

The gift of really, truly becoming part of this organization makes me proud of what I represent.

The colony process made it that much more worth it.

I knew the first time that I stood in Tiger Stadium and heard the Golden Band play "Pregame", http://www.lsusports.net/ad/randomli...pagecode=songs , in front of 80,000(+) screaming fans that I was "home". Almost 20 years later, I still cry and get goosebumps when I hear the four long notes of "Hooold That Tiiii-ger" in the "Pregame" song. There is nothing like Saturday night in Death Valley. The stadium now holds 91,600 officially, but 92,251 is the record.

I knew the first day I met those 9 women. I tell this story a lot (it's a good recruitment story), but, when I first came here (TAMUK), I wanted to leave. I hated everything about it. I was ready to abandon my dream of becoming a vet because I was so homesick. Then, I met the D Phi E's. They were ME. D Phi E was me. And, I've been with it since that First Formal recruitment for them. And I've been bleeding PURPLE and GOLD ever since.

Totally bumping...

I'm going to go with... meeting Danielle who was my special sister during rush and then became my big big big after big/little night. I got a frame from by big big on big/little night with the names of all my family members and I stuck a picture of all us in it. I've never changed the photo, even as people graduated or deactivated or I got littles and our family expanded. I even made the family-member frame a given during big/little night in my branch of the family and I hope its still given today... PureGold2k1, if you guys have forgotten about including it with other gifts, lie to me and say you guys still give it to one another!

And its ROYAL purple and PURE gold! :D
