Hey any of you local girls out there?
I'm thinking about starting my own business...would any one out there be interested in purchasing sisterhood gifts or hand made type things with your letters on it?
The idea is to make cute and fun things at an affordable price. My sisters and i make our own gifts for each other and I've started making things such as shorts, flip flops, cups, etc. for myself as well as my sisters. They turn out super cute! A lot of stuff on the internet is so expensive and sometimes boring so as I mentioned I've started making my own. (I was especially upset when they came out with flip flops for nationals b/c no place seems to personalize those.)
Anyway...if anyone would be interested in purchasing stuff like this let me know and if you have anything you ever wanted and can't find on the net, let me know as well because that's how it all started for me.
Some ideas I have:
fleece blankets
keychains
candles
jewlery box
ornaments
flower pots
clocks
candy jar
book ends
pillows
soffe shorts
flip flops
purse or totes
beaded jewlery
bottle/vase
t.v. tray/table

Any of this stuff can be decorated with your sorority name and even some of them could have pictures of you and your sisters on them. I have lots of ideas but I need to know if I would have the customers! Thanks!

You seem to have a great idea! I would suggest even opening it up to National Groups since you won't be able to keep a premade inventory. APO has virtually nothing in most campus bookstores and even online so it would be nice to finally have something cute!

Whoa! How much are your flip flops, and would you be OK with making them for a national org? I would love to have a pair of Phi Sigma Pi flip flops, but I don't think such a thing exists online, or at least I haven't found them. Do you have any pictures of ones you've done already?

Sounds like a great idea you've got there, anyway. Some of that stuff, I'd have a hard time finding even in AXiD letters. That's pretty cool that you can make all that.

oh yeah sorry..its not just a local thing...but i figured i start there and see how it goes...but yeah if someone national wanted something i'd be all about making it for them...

well my flip flops are currently in test mode...
i made them for my sister's b-day...our colors are blue and blue and our flower is the rose...hopefully they dont fall apart!!! i painted her name on them and put a flower on top of each one...they turned out super cute though! ill try and get a pic up...im working on a pair for myself too....anyway the could have your orgs flower on them and then they woudl be personalized....and well i mean if it works out well they would be under $10 for sure, depending on how much the flip flops cost me

well if you check they can make it but the minimum is 500 :eek: so it would be at least four grand just even to make it.

We are locals and would love that. I would love keychain and PINS we really need pins with our letters!! I see the plain one for nationals (just letters only) but they dont make them for locals. I know my sisters really want flip fliip but notepads with our letters would be great as bid day gifts or just for general use, advertisement of our sorority, etc. The big/lil sis bear it would be great if they could have our sorority name engraved on it. and some jewelry would be nice too! So many jewelry i see is only nationals. :( I would love stickers too :) its so frustrating when almost everything is national only - dont the nationals get bored of everyone having almost the same design? it so hard to find local stuff for bid day or lil sisters. I forgot about the spirit rings, ribbon with letters, Memo board with letters, ooh even fake tatoo with letters and butterfly or somethign cute!!

Thats really neat I have been looking for flip flops as well. Let me know how they turn out, cause I would love to buy a pair.

I bought a bear from Greek Gear . It is a white beanie baby with silver angel wings and they screen print letters on it in any colors that you want. It came out so cute! I got one for me and one for my Big.

As far as buying stuff, I think that the other girls who have posted on here have pretty much summarized the average local girl's attitude on cute sorority lettered stuff- we want it all lol. I think that if you started a business like that, we'd make sure you were mighty succesful in it. :D

Thank you so much for the great response! I am currently searching for a job. Once I'm employed I can start working on this a litlte more! I did however make some way cute notecards for my sorority. I was just messing around but they turned out really nice. Any other ideas...lemme know and I'll write them down. Hopefully I'll have a job SOON!

Hey girls! I have opened my own E-bay store! I have created some cute sisterhood gifts and I have started to sell a few things! Thanks for the support. If anyone would like to check it out the store name is Expressions of Sisterhood. I am very excited about it and I hope I can bring some quality items to all the locals out there! Slowly but surely it's coming together. Basically it's a design your own product thing. All the stuff can get out about as quickly as if I pulled it off a shelf. (Unless I get super busy) Really, the best part about it is I will work one on one with my customers to design something that will make them happy. Feel free to make requests too.
