A question for U of T Students
I know there is at least 2 of you here ;)
Anyway, now the U of T has only 4 year degrees, I was wondering if that means you have to do a thesis to graduate? I know an honours degree is required for post grad studies, but what if you have no intention of doing any graduate work. Is a thesis still required? |
I didn't do my undergraduate degree at U of T, but the school's Arts and Science website does not say that a thesis is required to graduate. Individual departments may have their own requirements.
http://www.artsandscience.utoronto.c...gree.htm#BABSC Hope this helps. |
Are all U of T's courses full credits or do they have half credit classes as well?

Thanks for the info!

No prob! :)
Lady Pi Phi, are you looking into finishing your degree at U of T? |
I'm thinking about it. It will depend on how long it will take me to finish because I can finish up in 2 semesters at Guelph.
It wouldn't be for a while, since I'm continuing to take time off from Guelph and I will be going to Seneca College in September. But I am thinking of doing a second degree at U of T. Probably in history, later on. But I don't really have a desire to complete an honours degree because I don't think grad school will ever be in my future (I will only be completing a general degree from U of G) |
Having been someone who transferred from UVic to Calgary at the end of my 3 yr (loan probs), to be able to graduate from U of C, I had to take at least half of my courses from U of C, so I ended up losing a year (I know sucky - but then I changed my major too to history - 2 years of papers!).
If you have completed more than half your classes @ Guelph, then you should be able to take a 'visiting year' at U of T. Check with an academic adviser - and get their recommendation in writing in case there are issues down the road with graduating (a hard lesson my girlfriend learned)! Good luck!!! |
