Hate talking to recordings!
Where the heck did all the live people on the phones go and why the heck do i gatta press so many dang buttons and still get the run around?
|
I hear ya! It took me a 1/2 hour to get a live person yesterday at my health insurance company. Either I was put on hold or disconnected. It's really annoying. And it just took 2 seconds to ask them what I needed to ask.
|
it's kind of like they plan it...
i particularly like the wait time announcements. sort of like you are on hold forever. |
Two ways to get around these systems:
Try pressing "0" to get to an operator. That works a lot of the time. When you first call, don't hit anything. Sometimes the system assumes you are on a pulse phone and forwards you to a person. Other than that, call at 3AM. |
It's a conspiracy!
|
What's worse is when a telemarketer calls and then asks YOU to hold. WTF? You called me first!

Companies want to save money by not having real people answering their phones, so they waste a lot of our time.
Drives me nuts. My time is important. Good advice from Kevin, though. I hit the "0" button as soon as the recording starts. It works pretty often. |
I usually take the "para espanol, oprima dos" option and then say "hablas ingles?" to the operator. It works. :)
