What to do?
This is more of a notice than anything. The cyst that put me off work for 2 weeks is back. I don't know what's going to happen this time. I haven't contacted my doctor or my human resource manager yet. I'm trying to decide what to do first. Hopfully, this time, things will be taken care of--part of me wishes that it will just jo away like the last time though. I'll let you know if I have to take off again--which, I'm thinking I will--but who knows what will happen.

I am very sorry about that, but I may have some advice. My biological sister who is 15 started developing cysts about two years ago, and although they were tested and not cancerous, they kept coming back. It turned out that she had a genetic disorder that caused her cells to deform (can't think of a better word) and form cysts. After having 7 removed in all she was put on a medication that made them stop. I don't know if this is a common thing, but maybe it would help you.

Hi Mikki; I'm sorry to hear that it's back. The first thing I think you should do is talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. I think that you need to get to the bottom of whatever causes it to keep coming back so that you can get it taken care of once and for all and it won't bother you any more. Good luck; you are in my thoughts sweetie! Keep us posted, k?

Hi Mikki.
I hope I'm not intruding but these are my thoughts on this. It does sound like a tricky situation with work and balancing it with contacting your Doctor. I know that there are times where I hate to see my eye doctor or any doctor for that matter. That and it comes up at the worst time. I would say just work in as best as possible with work. I'm sure they'll understand if your forthright with them. I mean it is your body and no job is worth more than you. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I know that my Grandfather had a history of cysts. They werent malignant though. I had a small one about two months ago and my doctor put me on an antibiotic and after two weeks it disappeared and never came back. If it did I'm sure he'd just freeze it off or try some other kind of medicine. However, I'm not a Doctor though. I wish you the best with this situation. -Kevin |
Thanks everyone.
I called the surgeon who was supposed to remove it last time, and I can't get in to see him till Monday--of course. So then I called my doctor and she wasn't there, but the nurse said she'd try to get my antibotics refilled today (tues.) when the doctor comes in. I called HR and they said I'd have to fill out all the paperwork again--no biggie--but that I should be ok. If I go off work again. My only problem is, I don't know what my doctor is going to do. The painkiller they had me on last time is Lortab, which is a narcotic, and basically you shouldn't be doing ANYTHING while taking this. The pain IS getting worse, so I'm thinking of calling down there and seeing what she can do for me. |
Sorry to hear about that. I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you, and hoping that you'll be feeling better soon. Calling your doctor was a good idea...keep us updated.
