Ladies....please help!!!
 

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So I wanted to highlight my hair. Had never done it before, or any kind of dye job for that matter. It would have turned out great except, on the top of my head, on the left side toward the back there is a fairly large, quite noticible blond spot! ACK

So WHAT on earth can I do to fix it?? :confused: And if you have any quick tips to just kinda disguise it (I have work tomorrow!!) that'd be much appreciated.

The only thing i can think of would be to wear it up if it is long enough to do that...or get some professional kind of help on it. My friend died my hair black once, but there were still brown streaks through it. When I tried to highlight it months later and dye it maroon over it *the whole idea of black with maroon streaks* it turned carrot orange!!!!! My mom ended up dying it back to my natural color.

As soon as you can, get a professional to fix it!!

Hey lady. If you can afford it, I also suggest going to a professional stylist. I used to have long long long hair and one of the reasons I got it cut back in the day was because I had it highlighted and colored so many times I just wanted it to get healthy again. Good luck:D

Like everyone else mentioned, go to a professional.
If not, go to your nearest beauty supply store (like Sally's...if y'all have one nearby) and get yourself a toner. Make sure to get the kind that will take out the brassiness. Wash that through your hair and it should lessen the one blonde chunk. Still, I really do recommend going to a professional or you could mess it up even more.

The reason I was so desperate is because I have work today at 5! :eek: And I've tried parting my hair different, putting it up, etc and NOTHING hid the mess! :( What happened is that the top got too light; too much dye. I tried to wipe it off (like it said to do) before it took, but it took anyways. *sigh*

Sooo, the good news is I called my beautician and explained the situation and she has agreed to take me in at 3 and promises she'll have it died back and ready to go and I'll still be at work on time. I feel much better!

That's great that you can get in before work. I know it's costly but going to a real beautician is so worth it. I've made many mistakes in the "do it yourself hair department" and would much rather spend the money getting it professionally dyed/highlighted. I want my old long hair back!

LOL:D That reminds me, I was watching an old Who's the Boss re-run the other day and Marci had black roots and highlighted hair. Angela's character is famous for that too. Bring back the 80's!!!!

Actually, the lady I go to only charges $25 for a basic dye job! I believe for highlights she charges $35 or $40. FOr haircuts, only 8 bucks. I've gone to her for years, and I won't let anyone else touch my hair! :)

I miss haircare being that cheap!!!! Since I moved to NYC it seems like I can't get out of a salon when I get highlights and a haircut, and by the time I tip for less then $100.

Wow! :eek: It costs a lot more in a lot of places, but wow...that's a lot. But I know most places cost more than where I go. I know in Jonesboro (where I go to college), a haircut is I believe about $15 or $20 most places. And dyeing/highlighting is quite a bit more.

That reminds me of when my freshman roommate and i decided to dye each other's hair in the communal bathroom...in the one bathtub that was there but was never ever used...except for the one night when we dyed our hair in it lol. Well, she's a blonde and was trying to go blonder and i'm a brunette who was trying to go a little redder (like a brownish red) and by the end of the night, when all was said and done, she had beautiful blonde hair....with orange spots ALL over the top of her head. And I had beautiful cherry/brown hair...but only on the top layer of my hair, everytime I moved my head, you could see the different color hair underneath! Ugh, needless to say, we NEVER did each other's hair again.

(at least we both messed up...I would have felt awful if i screwed her hair up, but mine came out perfectly!)

I am the queen of f*cked up dye jobs, so I only go to a professional now. I mean, I didn't always mess it up, but it happened enough for me to stop trusting myself with hair color :p

Hair update.

Wow, ladies. Well...went to Kelly (my beautician) yesterday. She showed me two hair color samples closest to my own hair color, and I picked the one with the slightly red undertone, since my own hair color has a slightly red undertone. She she dyes it. Washes it. Dries and styles it.

I look in the mirror....

DARK BROWN WITH A DEFINATE RED TINT. :eek:

Mind you my natural hair color is light brown. She even said that it was NOT supposed to turn out that dark, but that she thought it was really cute. And, it really is a fun color. I figure I can't change it now, so I'll make the best of it. Since I have lost weight this summer (15 lbs, and about 5 more to go!!), I figure this new hair color will add to the "makeover" effect. I'm also getting it cut next week since it has grown out a lot and I've got split ends.

Honestly though, the color is a good color for me, and people at work told me they thought so as well, because this color has a red tint like my own hair color, so it's still flattering to my skin/eye color.
