What was your fave? I LOVED that cream of mushroom soup. I've never had better, and I rarely like soup. I also loved that stuffed chicken. I want that recipe! Fave dessert? ALL OF THEM!

The filet mignon at the Jewel dinner (and the view from the 95th floor of the Hanock).

I chose the vegetarian entree instead of the Cornish hen--spaghetti w/ marinara and an odd assemblage of vegetables: the ever-present asparagus, green beans, carrots, plus a slice of eggplant and acorn squash. (I could tell what the chef needed to use up.)

Loved the dessert with AGD 1904-2004 written on the plates!

I must admit that I really enjoyed the ever present roasted tomato too.

Do you think the mushrooms were supposed to be "buff" in the color scheme?

I didn't really have a fave food that stood out although I liked most of them. The desserts were pretty good. I was hoping for ice cream, lol.

I did like the soup...almost anything with strawberries I'll eat.


I must admit that my collegiate asked and got A1 sauce for the beef portion of the beef salad plate. She passed around the bottle...it added more flavor, lol. ;)

I know that is difficult to plan for almost 1000 people but the Marriott staff was wonderful in bringing exceptions, whether it was an entree, dessert or drink ((a couple of sisters got Pepsi, lol).

As for the "tea", I heard it was great but don't mess with my sweet tea! ;) :D

during feast of roses though, i had the vegetarian option of vegetarian lasagna!!!!! very tasty.

as for favorite desert, first night's chocolate cake was superb!

I liked the cornish hen but I didn't appreciate eating it in my white attire.

The "club" sandwich wasn't too bad, although the egg made it seem like it was better for breakfast.

I had two filet mignons for Feast of Roses since I could eat the fish, and I loooooved it.

Was just thinking the same thing as I tried to decide which meal was my favorite....

Best food? Desserts (overall) and the iced tea from the first two days.

Worst food? The "club" sandwich and the vegetarian plates from Days 1, 2 & 3. Looked like grass clippings with burnt squash on a plate.

Of course, it's hotel food, so what can you expect? I got to have dinner at Sushi Wabi in the old meat-packing district, dessert at the Ghirardelli Chocolate store (near Tiffany's, of course!) and breakfast at Cosi. Oh... and that late night run to Portillo's for hot dogs...

I was somewhat surprised by how good the food was. The stuffed chicken on Saturday night was my favorite. The "club" sandwich was somewhat questionable - did anyone actually leave everything on the sandwich or did everyone pick it apart and only leave some of the stuff on there? My crew kept wondering where the pasta with the red, yellow, and green peppers was, since that seems to be an ever-present staple at Alpha Gam functions! :p

The food wasn't horrible, but it didn't agree with my stomach most of the time...hello? Strawberry soup with mint?

One of the girls in my chapter doesn't eat meat but will eat seafood. Her registration showed that she had been flagged with vegetarian meals, and while other vegetarians got nice pasta dishes, tell me why she was given a plate of cold spaghetti with no sauce? The server even had the nerve to try and pour the strawberry dressing (that was supposed to be for the salad) on her spaghetti? The whole time she was thinking, "I paid money for this?"

In my opinion the food was much better in Atlanta. I was so glad to have my first burger/hot dog/pizza (whatever was NOT salad) after Convention.

Went to Tavern on Rush last night with greeklawgirl and I went to heaven. Of course it wasn't the 95th floor of the Hancock building, but it'll do. :)

Back to Navy Pier to get fat today!

I left everything on the sandwich and thought it was the absolute best sandwich I ever ate! The only thing I didn't care for the whole time was the fish on the last night, but I just don't eat fish. I thought everything else was wonderfully tasty.

My food usually consists of Happy Meals, hot dogs, and spaghetti (with sauce out of a jar), and assorted other "kid friendly " foods, so I rarely get something so nice!

I used to do event planning and just looking through the posts tells me what every banquet professional knows - NOTHING is going to please everyone!

I'm at my parents right now for a visit before I return to DC. My meals thus far have included leftover Chinese, some cold pizza and peanut butter toast. I'm starting to miss having someone serve me!

I liked the bread.... and the ranchy-peppercorn dressing....
I'm picky about food... in the sense I only really LOVE my mom's cooking... I tolerate everything else... except Breyer's choc. Icecream... I was dying for caffeine the entire time *I don't drink coffee*
