My Fellow New Yorkers...

Does anyone know of a restaurant with great food and drinks at an inexpensive to moderate price?

What is the name of the restaurant/bar/lounge?

What is the cuisine?

What drinks do you recommend?

What do you like about this establishment?

Thank you for your support. :)

Spice. Thai food and drinks. Great atmosphere and cheap cheap. Located at 60 University Place (I think that is @10th st.).

Also Cafe Spice is a few doors over. That is really yummy too, Indian food, awesome drinks a bit pricier though but affordable. More "romantic" atmosphere.

Off the top of my head, Maryann's Mexican Restaurant at 1503 Second Avenue. There are other locations, but I have never been to them. The margaritas and the food are good and reasonably priced.

Dallas BBQ is also fun and reasonably priced with locations around Manhattan. Here is a
link to their website. I never had alcoholic drinks there.

If you are looking for other fun and moderately priced restaurants in NYC, I suggest you check out citysearch. Good luck! :)

Excellent choices Peaches :) The Maryann's on 8th ave & 14th st. is good. There is also an amazing Belgian restaurant in that neighborhood too called Markt (14th & 9th ave). It's an awesome place to go in the summertime because of the outdoor seating and then you are surrounded by bars and clubs galore in that neighborhood. If you decide to go to the Village Idiot though watch out for the cockroaches falling from the ceiling. Cheap beer, old twangy country music and tons of NYU kids here, what more could you ask for?

I tried the citysearch website but I wanted people's personal opinion instead of going to these places and not enjoy myself. At least I know the peeps on GreekChat would give me a straight up answer. Thanks for your reply. I will definitely look into those restaurants.
