Habitat?
So our new philanthropy is Habitat?? That's pretty cool!
|
Well....pretty much.
OFFICIALLY, our National Philanthropy is Pine Mountain Settlement School. (That's because "philanthropy" is more $$ oriented, as in donations, than it is a physical service project. At least that's what I got out of the explanation!) Our National Service Project is Habitat for Humanity. The aim is to do more actual hands on work with them, rather than just have a bake sale and send them money. I think it's a great thing for us to have a hands-on service project. Pine Mountain was difficult to explain to others (and still is!) but Habitat is so widely known that it's easier to make a connection with them. Plus it's something alumnae can easily get involved with, especially if they are building in an area where there is a collegiate chapter and an alumnae chapter nearby. I'm looking forward to swingin' a hammer!!!! PsychTau |
I'm excited, Habitat is a wonderful organization, and will help the chapters because it is known. I'm sad that it wasn't Red Cross, but Habitat is still wonderful. :) yea for us!!
