What do you think of the Democratic Party Platform?
http://www.democrats.org/platform
Platform Preview In offering this vision, we affirm our faith in the greatness of America. We recommit to the ideal of a people united in helping one another, an ideal as old as the faiths we follow and as great as the country we love. To those who are threatened, we pledge protection; to those who are victims, we promise justice; to those who are hopeless, we offer hope. And to all Americans who seek a better future for themselves, for their loved ones, and for our country, we say: your cause is our own. - From the Preamble to the 2004 Democratic Platform SECURITY "To meet these challenges, we need a new national security policy guided by four new imperatives: First, America must launch and lead a new era of alliances for the post-September 11 world. Second, we must modernize the world's most powerful military to meet the new threats. Third, in addition to our military might, we must deploy all that is in America's arsenal -- our diplomacy, our intelligence system, our economic power, and the appeal of our values and ideas. Fourth and finally, to safeguard our freedom and ensure our nation's future, we must end our dependence on Mideast oil." |
I say how to most of those and to the oil, I say bullshit.
And a lot of it I say how's that different from anyone else. -Rudey |
Party platfoms are B.S. designed to placate the party regulars.

What platform? Rehtoric BS from the get go! Maybe none of Our Due-ly elected morons havent figured out, we are not all dumb asses.:( Ever heard of a Broke Plotician when He/She left office:confused: |
If my political science-major education was worth anything, I think I remember that before the convention, this is just the PROPOSED platform. The platform gets voted on at the convention, where it usually swings far to the left or right depending on which convention youre at. The party platform is where the extremists in the party like to exert their control.
Example; many republicans, especially younger ones are pro-choice. That would never make its way into the party platform. No way. Becasue the extremists have control of the platform. |

Conclusion: This statment by the DNC is worthless in its entirety as to how it sets them apart from GWB. It could just as easily be a speach that Bush gave. I guess it confirms what I thought about the main point of this contest. Kerry's real motto will be "Vote for me, I'm not Bush". |
I'll be more interested to see what is actually said at the convention. This platform could be said by anyone in any year.
