Getting rid of cats

A female cat and her kittens are living in my neighbor's yard.
They are now going back and forth under the fence. My yard has turned into 1 huge litter box. It smells back there and they keep setting off my motion lights at night. The humane society in my town will not come get them, how do I keep these annoying things out of my yard? Help

Leave a nice bowl of brake fluid.

I hope you don't do that because that would be cruel.

Maybe you should just call animal control?

What city are you in or near?

Maybe you can extend your fence down into the ground with some type of wire that the kittens can't fit through. Does that make sense? I know people who have vegetable gardens build something like this so small animals cannot get in.

If the humane society won't take them, then call you local animal control. Granted, they will probably gas 'em after 3 days :( , but sometimes they will put them up for adoption (or at least my city does).

Aww, I love cats. I would take 'em if I could.

There has to be an aminal shelter somewhere that will take them...I hate hearing about homeless cats/kittens...

How about calling the ASPCA? They might have some suggestions.

Is there a rescue organization in your area? I mean like a no-kill shelter. They're different from regular animal shelters, and would most likely take the kittens.

Block underneath your fence . . maybe use sandbags . . cheap and easy.

She said she already called the humane society folks.

Antifreeze.

Just kidding. Most no-kill shelters charge out the ass to accept a pet. In the range of $50-75 here in SA.

Afte I found that out, it was off to the pound they went.

That's really backass. I worked at a shelter and they didn't charge anything to accept animals. They take everyone, too.

If you just want them to stay out of your yard, PetSmart sells some cat-repellant stuff that you could try. I don't remember if it's a spray or something else, but you put it all around the perimeter of your yard to keep the cats away. The cats don't like the smell, so they stay away, but it's not harmful to them or anything else.
