So I emailed our house corporation since we're a colony and thus have no clue if it's actually part of the ritual or not, plus they're the wise ones that know what should be done with Iowa Beta items until we get our charter next year.

But I'm irffed. When the chapter closed down everything was to have been put in storage or sent to HQ and we've been hearing that a LOT of stuff was just taken by the members that were around when the chapter was closed.

I would find out who the seller is. That's stolen merchandise.

An alum alerted Ebay that the item was stolen and the auction was canceled. Appears that several alumni are pitching in money to pay the $140 the seller is asking for in order to have the lamp returned.
I'm not the only one irffed about this, but we're using the situation to our advantage asking the alumni on the email list that if they or a Brother they're in contact with have items to let our House Corp Pres or Chapter Advisor know so that they may ask for the items when we charter.

Great work by the Iowa Beta alumni! I would love to know how this seller got his hands on it. Someone might deserve expulsion from Phi Kappa Psi over this incident. Theft of fraternity property is no small transgression.

Iowa Beta will have to be dilligant, but I'm sure that a succsessful resolution is possible.
