DOH! Guilty as charged! Unlike my mom and sister I did NOT I repeat NOT have a Jeri Curl hairdo! :D
And the flourescent clothes. Don't forget those. :)
I had the Jelly-heels...now tht I look back...how silly!
I used to have a bunch of those rubber or 'virgin' bracelets and charm necklaces.
I also had slinky bracelets and necklaces Anyone remember these two clothing stores: Ups n Downs and Merry Go Round? |
Eeew, jellies! What a stupid invention when you think about it. First of all, the rubber straps cut into my feet, then my feet would get all sweaty and they'd slip and squish around in the shoes. They were darn cheap, though. Guess that's why I wore them.
Ahhh, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans! Those were my first major fashion purchase ever! I worked the summer between 7th and 8th grades cleaning the offices at my uncle's auto-body shop on weekends and answering phones during the week. Right before school started, my mom took me to Kaufmann's (Pittsburgh's frou-frou department store) and I shelled out $48.00 for a pair of dark blue jeans with gold stitching and Gloria's signature in gold on my back right pocket and, of course, the embroidered swan on the front pocket. That was SO MUCH MONEY to me at the time but, man, I wanted those jeans. |
