Does anyone remember ANSI art?

Yup. I also remmember when I was still chattiing through telnet.

I used to connect directly with PC's on my Apple //c on a 2400 bps modem using a VT-100 protocol. Beat that :D

God I remember the first email system I was on. We had to dial long distance to a "service provider" that could handle up to 10 computers at once. The server couldnt hold the emails after you got them so you had to copy them to a floppy and compose your message offline before dialing again to send.
That was back in the dark ages of the internet- back in '91.
(yeah- it was some dinky thing in Marshalltown, Iowa- then AOL came in 1993 and life took off from there)

Ooooohh!!! Me too! We were, like, so way before "the internet". :D

I know people who still have absolutely no idea what a BBS is.....

The funny thing is that my first "proper" e-mail address was something like: 1227143.54@compuserve.com
