Fort Myers?
I am heading to ASA convention in Fort Myers FL next week and as we have a couple free nights, I was wondering what there is to do there in terms of restaurants/entertainment?
Anyone who can help, thanks! |
My grandparents lived in Ft. Myers for most of my life so I've visited a lot over the years.
I recommend checking out Sanibel Island and the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa (right before the causeway). The SHR&S has live enteratainment each night and a dinner cruise on a luxury yacht that departs each evening. We stayed at the SHR&S on our last trip and it's the happiest I've ever been in that part of Florida. There are lots of good restaurants on Sanibel and most of the restaurants over there are way more fun than those in Ft. Myers. My favorite restaurants on Sanibel are on the far side of the island so I doubt you'd want to drive all that way. I'll think about it some and post more if I come up with specific recommendations. |
Hey there--
I lived in Fort Myers for my whole life, so PM me and let me know where you are staying and I can give you a better idea of where to go. Is this the National ASA conference?? |
Yes this is our natl convention. I'm pming you. :)

My mother lived there for 6 years, moved a year ago to the east coast. She did not like Ft. Myers at all. I think it's an ok place to visit, but a harder place to live. The restaurants are awful. I'm a vegetarian, and we had an awful time finding a place that had food for me to eat. At one place I had to beg for a grilled cheese. So weird. I think there are some clubs at Ft. Myers beach, the beaches are nice at Sanibel, but the actual city of Ft. Myers is pretty boring. Good luck.

the restaurant "the bubble room" is incredibly fun. i went there 4 years ago, and ordered the "judy garden." best green beans i EVER had.
