Entertainment and Politics

Okay recent posts and media have had me ask the question:

"What level of political agenda does the current entertainment industry have?"

For example Moore and his documentaries.... or conversely television shows shuch as JAG... as each is it's own sactimonous agenda heedless of arguements of the opposing side.

While I enjoy watching Moore or JAG each also raises the BS meter to new levels. For example the recent JAG decided to take on the justification for the war in Iraq, and portrayed the opposing legal team and people as French and/or "Anti-American"... of course this isn't true in reality and neither are all of Moore's allegations.

Now lets try to dicuss the entertainment perspective and not argue about politics.

West Wing definitely makes some political statements.

Ever watch E.R.?

They have that fat dude at the counter who's sole purpose is to mock conservatives. The rest of the staff spout off socialist ideals.

That whole Africa storyline, I'm convinced, was to make you feel bad for being in a country that didn't have problems like that.

The episode of Friends where the power goes out. It's to show what REALLY happens when the power goes out if you don't pay your bill. Cuz if you don't pay, then those workers can't get paid. And if they can't be paid, the company has to lay people off. And then there goes the economy.

Well see you'd expect West Wing to promote a "democrat" agenda as they are portraying a "Democratic" Administration....
