Woman sues McDonalds over French Fries

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...donald_s_fries

1) If I cared about the fat, I wouldn't eat the fries...

2) God Bless Sue-Happy America.....I'm gonna sue KFC for making my fingers greasy, thus vanadlizing my laptop as I type this

Why do people feel it is McDonald's duty to provide heart healthy food to the world??? It's fast, convenient, cheap and downright tasty; but if I'm feeling in the mood for something "healthy" I eat elsewhere.

There are so many idiots in this world sometimes it makes me want to scream!

You got that right...! I don't usually chow down on SuckDonald's unless the craving hits me (even though I work for one of MickeyD's kitchen equipment suppliers).

People like that who file frivolous lawsuits should have their cases thrown out and made to pay triple court costs! The extra penalty for wasting the court's time, money and schedule.

Hopefully this case will go the way of "mcdonalds made my kid fat" cases.

Even if McD's did give her that promise, I don't think she gave valid consideration (contract law terms)...

Kevin 07-10-2004 08:32 AM

How about they throw out the case on the basis that they lady and her attornies are complete morons?

Munchkin03 07-10-2004 08:58 AM

What IDIOTS! No judge in his right mind would take that case.

Personal responsibility, people!

Fat is fat is fat. If you look, olive, canola and veggie oil (as well as all other types) all have the same number of fat grams per 1 tablespoon serving (14, in case you wondered). They differ in the number of grams of TFA, but they all (in excess) will make you fat. The only difference is that if you OD on the olive oil, you'll be a fat ass w/ a good HDL count and fairly clear arteries. Oil is fat. Liquid lipids, if you will. Like KR, I occasionally eat fast food, but I'm definitely not under the delusion that any of that crap is good for me.

Next thing you know, someone dumbass will be suing Budweiser because he didn't think that beer would make him drunk.

But I swear, McDonald's french fries are the best french fries ever.

They are, they are. Yes, they are.

I like Burger King's better.

Back to the topic, what an idiot.

Do people not realize or care that everyone who hears about their lawsuit will react the way we are all reacting?

I guess they don't mind being a laughing stock to get a shot at the jackpot.

That is what the tobacco companies thought...

This topic reminds me of something I heard on the news this morning:

Making obesity an actual disability.

What do people think about this?

Some of the insurance companies are talking about this...it would affect what is an acceptable diagnosis and what isn't.

I'm big on personal responsibility - if you can't keep your hands off the fries, it's not MacDonald's fault. There are responsible ways to enjoy food like that.

I tend to stay away from that stuff; when I do eat it though, I prefer BK's fries to MacDonalds'.

Bad Idea... This will make the governmnt responsible for obesity. I am not saying that it is not a sickness, but it is up to the individual to take responsibility for themselves. Once the government gets involved, watch out. You will see restaurants shutting down, candy removed from stores, and that is just the beginning.

You may have rolled your eyes at my previous post in this thread, but that is where we are headed. People have shunned all personal responsibility, and if that is what they want to do, there will be hell to pay. I am booking a one-way ticket to Costa Rica the second they outlaw my right to eat a York Peppermint Patty...
