What is your roll call number?

Alrite, I'm not sure if all GLO's do the same thing, but the way Pike does is it, i know sigma nu is big on this, but when youre iniated you're given a Roll Call Number. i.e. the first initiated member of the chapter is given Number One, etc etc..

My Roll Call is #102

Whats yours?

Scroll...

In Tau Kappa Epsilon, we call it THE SCROLL...

In our chapter, and probably internationally, the SCROLL is taken somewhat seriously, but mostly for sh*ts and giggles...

A higher scroll can tell a lower scroll what to do in the appropriate situation... This is done by saying: "SCROLL" then whatever you want to say...

For example, during a meeting the popular phrase is "SCROLL, SHUT THE F*** up! Show some respect!"

Or it is usually just used for "shotgun" (the passenger front seat in the car), and STARTING POSITIONS in inter-fraternity athletics...

It's applied in different things, but not to the extent that they are commands... more like seniority privelages...

But yeah, we have that...

GO BEACH!!!

As I stated before in similar threads, please exercise caution when revealing your number, as many fraternity/sorority websites use your chapter/roll number to be able to logon.

I'd treat it as you would with your SSN. :)

We have the same thing. It's on the back of your badge. We use our member #'s in determining priority for who lives in the house.

Since I'm still trying to get all of our members in a nice list by year and pledge class, ours still isn't accurate. But, currently with the information I have, I'm 269 :D

As far as I know, ours isn't used for anything except telling whose badge is whose when they're passed out. I think I had to tell our Chaper Life VP what it was when I moved onto the hall, but I can't remember. It's just the # of our chapter in order of founding, then the # initiate that we are.

Alpha Tau 2063

(yes, my chapter has been around that long! My pledge son is 2103 and the last number in the chapter is currently 2112)

thermobryan 07-10-2004 01:19 AM

Yeah mine was founded in 1998, so its still new...my pledge class was the first to go into triple digits...

AlphaSigOU 07-10-2004 07:30 AM

Alpha Alpha #814. We're the first double-letter chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi.

IowaStatePhiPsi 07-10-2004 08:11 PM

well.. as far as we know Iowa Beta closed in 1999 with the highest initiate number around 1341.
If that is the correct number then right now based on work toward the colony in rechartering I would be either 1343 or 1344. But I dont get my badge and thus my initiate number until we charter.
