Any AOIIs in SoCal?

I'm moving from Atlanta, GA to Irvine, CA at the end of the month to attend law school at Whittier Law School. I've tried contacting the closest alumni group, but haven't received a response yet. Do any of you live in the Southern California area? Its all so new to me, but I'm so excited to be moving and starting this new phase in my life! :)

Congratulations and have fun at law school! :) Hmmm, if I lived in SoCal I'd be the first to let ya know, but alas, I'm alum in Colorado. But I feel your pain on moving. I get to do that next May. Scary! :)

C'mon ladies, I know there are some of ya out there! :D

Sarah,

Hehe, if you could just have the chapter send me notes of encouragement every couple of weeks, maybe that would get me through! :) Haha...hopefully all the nervous energy will pass soon and I will do spectacularly in law school. I can always dream! lol

How have you been? I haven't been on AIM in a long time, but in a few weeks I'll have wireless internet in my new place and be on all the time...we'll chat sometime and catch up! :)

Hi, I'm the Chapter Adviser at Cal State Long Beach. Your nearest chapert is probably North Orange County, San Gabriel Valley or Long Beach Alums.

I'm a huge fan of the LB alum group. I'm not in any alum group because I know I'll get suckered into some leadership position and I'm quite busy with the AAC right now. If you are willing we do have small positions available on the AAC. Email me if you want more info.

I know there are lots of lovely ladies that have recently moved to SoCal that would be more than happy to help you out. What city are you moving to?

Stacey

Kristi,

One of my chapter sisters belongs to the LB Alum Chapter. She's really great and if you need a contact and still haven't gotten one yet, I can PM you her info.

Let me know...

Heidi

PS Good Luck in Law School!!!!

Kristi-

You will love California! I visit there a lot, and I always have the best time. There is so much to do. My best friend (and pledge sister) lives in West Hollywood. If you would like a contact, please PM me.

I'm a Sigma Kappa at Cal State Long Beach. It's an awesome area to be in. My boyfriend works in Irvine too! My little sister & my boyfriends's brother go to UCI. Good-Luck there!

By the way, the website for the Long Beach chapter of AOII is

I'm sure in one of my many "great filing systems" for my AOII stuff I have the To Dragma that lists info on the history of our badge.

At what point were the badges standarized?

OleMissGlitter 07-28-2004 05:01 PM

SnowLady go to To Dragma on HQ's site and then go to Summer 2002, there is an article by one of my pledge sister's from Nu Beta about AOII Jewerly...very good article she wrote :)

The official date is 1965; however, I have heard others use the date 1969. I have seen "custom" badges with initiation dates after 1965 (engraving was original).....

I apologize to all who answered my thread who I never responded to!! I thought I had this set so that it would email me each time there was a new message in my thread, so when I never got any emails, I never checked for any new replies. I feel so awful!!!

Anyhow, I am now settled in Irvine and attending Whittier Law School...which is actually more like my home since I'm alwas there!! :)

I was very excited to be able to help Lambda Beta with their Recruitment on one of the days, and can't wait to go back and meet their wondeful new members! I'll be attending the AAC meeting for Lambda Beta tomorrow, and I can't wait to make new friends!

This is the true beauty of sisterhood...I moved all the way across the country, put out a couple of feelers for AOIIs nearby, and have been flooded with emails and posts on this thread! It's truly a beautiful thing. I love all my wondeful AOII sisters, especially those of you who have made me feel so at home out here in SoCal!!

pandarose18 09-21-2004 10:52 AM

Kristi,

I'm glad you're settled and enjoying California!! :) Can't wait to hear how law school is treating you!! GOOD LUCK with everything!

Roses,
Sarah
