No Good Summer Songs

Dangit, I have to complain, there aren't a lot of good dance songs that have come out this summer! There have been a couple of all rights, but nothing that's going to be like 'Summer of 2004' noteworthy...Does anyone else miss having the cheesy pop dance songs? :(

My friend and I were pondering that while sitting in a parking lot on the 4th. We kept hearing all these songs on the radio that were popular last summer and brought back lots of memories. And we also heard some really old stuff from back when we were in jr. high/high school.

And we couldn't think of any good songs to represent our clubbing ventures this summer. There are a few out, but they all kinda sound the same. God knows I can only stand listening to Usher and Britney for so long. (And Maroon 5, and Hoobastank... etc.)

Good summer songs should be the ones that get 50 spins on the radio in an 8 hour period.

I know!!! but even Britney only has that one crappy slow song out, Everytime? Where's the good upbeat stuff, sheesh?

P.S. Usher's awesome

It's times like this when I really start to miss Aliyah. Whether or not you liked her music, you knew she would rule the radio until at least September.

There are a couple of good ones out there. I like "Move Your Body", "Scandalous", "Dip it Low", and "Naughty Girl". I'm so tired of Usher. I don't wanna hear his confessions about his baby mama anymore. And you know "Burn" is just the 2004 version of "You Got it Bad".

Good lord how true is that?

The funny thing is that now he's got THREE singles out. Yeah (with it's 20 zillion remixes), Burn, and now Confessions. So I hear Usher at least once, sometimes twice an hour... but they are different songs so the radio stations don't care.

Yeah, I don't get why he put out so many singles at once. "Confessions" also has 85 remixes. And there is another version of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got U" with him singing on it. I liked it better with just her.

Actually, I think a good summer song is the cover of "Drift Away" by Uncle Kracker.

SSS1365 07-10-2004 09:41 PM

Yeah, but that came out like more than 6 months ago...

True, but I still think it's a good song for the summer.
Plus, they hardly play it here. It doesn't make me want to poke my eyes out with a shapr stick like "Burn" or "Confessions" does.

I will NEVER forget the first time I heard "We Need a Resolution"......it was at the last house party of the semester before graduation. It was near the end of the evening, and all of a sudden this really funky, exotic beat came on. Quite randomly, all the South Asian kids at the party started dancing to it. So I am like what the heck is this song?

Turns out it was "We Need a Resolution".....heard it all summer long and loved it every time.
