Break out the Drinks Cameron Crazies, Coach K is Staying!
 

ESPN is reporting that Coach K has turned down the Lakers job and will announce his decision at a Press Conference to be held at 5pm EST.

As a fan of Coach K and thereby a Duke fan by default i can say that i'm happier than a whore on payday.

I'm happy that he's staying. He's a class act, and his presence at Duke helps make the ACC the best I-A conference there is.

Glad he is staying at Duke! I think he is a class guy!

As a loyal UNC fan I regret saying that i too am gald he is staying. The UNC/Duke rivalry, though one sided the last few years is still the best college hoops rivalry in my book. I would hate to see the devils come apart and give no challenge to my Tarheels.

oh and the only thing i like about Duke is Coach K.

So when's the press conference where the Duke AD announces Coach K just doubled his salary?

I know you're just making a joke :) but i think you'll see a news conference announcing the ground-breaking of the Coach K Practice Facility first.

From what i've read and heard, Coach K is more concerned with perpetuating the state of the Duke program after he retires than lining his pockets.

Will he probably get a raise? Most likely. But i think this was more of a bargaining chip for a practice facility and other concessions he's been trying to get from the AD.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Good for Duke that he's staying - he's one of the cleaner coaches in college basketball. I'd like to see what he's getting from Duke for this decision.

Fan's Letter to Coach K

This is just so nice! :D

That makes me proud that there are still institutions with tradition and honor like Duke, with a coach who doesn't drink at co-ed parties or violate recruitment violations.

Coach K is everything that's right about sports. He encourages a campuswide fervor that has caught on throughout the country. He's a solid coach, and I'm glad to see him stay at Durham.
