I was thinking the other day about how we always talk about famous DG's but I wonder if there are any famous Anchormen?
Do all chapters have Anchormen?

We don't have an anchorman

We don't have an official anchorman, but many of my chapter sisters had suggested (last year) that we try to get my boyfriend Chris voted in...he's always done a TON of stuff for our chapter - from yard work to coming to events to act as our photographer (or videographer) to bringing us dinner at Greek Weed or Derby Days dance practices...so, of course he's my own personal anchorman and some might consider him Eta Kappa's first anchorman...though it was never official. :-( :-P

The funniest thing is that he was very agaisnt me rushing DG in the first place, but because he is a gem, he supported ME...even though he did not support the idea of a sorority. I think secretly he grew to like it more than he'll admit. He will admit that it was good for me at least...especially around my mom's death.

Anchormen are wonderful things to have come recruitment time. We usually vote for one per semester. Right now we have 4 undergrad Anchormen. We just do nice things for them. We bought those anchor boxers from old navy and sewed "Anchormen" into them and several other things. It's a big deal here, there are a lot of guys who want to be Anchormen, cause we annouce it at Anchor Slam/Splash (season according). But we vote as a chapter and we vote the same way we vote on potential members. By the way your boyfriend is adorable and I'm glad he warmed up to your decision!!!

Hey. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot, its my first post! I have a question about what exactly an Anchorman is. Is it an initated guy? How does it all work?

Hey! No Anchormen are not initiated. They are merely guys who have helped out the chapter, know most of the girls, and care about the chapter. Usually someone we all know pretty good. If you have anymore questions you can PM me. And they wear letters either...well ours dont.

We just started having anchormen, because we felt that it was a good PR move, but I don't think EO likes anyone to do it. Still, they say just as long as they aren't included in the composite, it's all right.

Totally off-subject... Those yellow shirts are cute... can I get one??

We are TOTALLY out of the yellow shirts...we might have some white ones left I could check on when school's back in session.

The white ones are cute too!! Beth sent me one and I wear it all the time!!

Sorry to hijack... AUDeltaGam, don't you wish we had those sailor hats in the picture like during rush, or to give to our NM on bid day? I think those are soo cute, and I think it'd set us apart during rush. I think they're only like...$3.95 or so in the catalog.

You can get them even cheaper from Party stores...we get ours for less than $1 each.
