Home Phone Bill

How much is your home phone bill each month?

Not your cell phone but your actual land line.

Somebody was tellin me that they pay about $39 per month for unlimited long distance and local service.

I pay around $50 something with Bellsouth. I don't like cell phones but I may have to reconsider. That, however is another topic.

Landlines are so last century. :D

I'm with Bellsouth paying about $50 for unlimited local, local toll and continental long distance. I also have a cell that I use a lot. I talk A LOT folks!!!

I was watching Clark Howard's report on how to lower bills and he was saying that you can get on an internet phone plan for a whole lot less than phone companies. I know I'm paying $50 for a basic plan but they tack on around $30 worth of junk charges every month!!!! It's ridiculous! Luckily, I'll be moving soon and I'll probably get hooked up with an internet phone.

In the states where they've deregulated, there are some pretty good deals to be found if you do your research.

hmmm....e'er month about 130....includes e'er thang plus DSL

I had to cut off my home phone because it would come out to about $130+ each month. Mind you while I was in school I didn't get home til about 9:30pm and I don't have a teenage son or daughter. So how did my phone bill that was supposed to be $40 a month wind up so high??? SBC is a RIP OFF!!! I'm happy with my t-mobile phone.

I don't have a ;andline, I just have my cell phone and then the cable/DSL combo at home.

Damn that's high! I'll agree with you though, if you just take SBC's standard deal, you'll get ripped. I know that at least for businesses, they can work "deals" for you. I'm about to get phone service and I've been looking into either Cox Cable digital phone or one of those new VOIP services. I think those are as low as $20/month.

Mine is pretty expensive. I pay 120 a month, but in that I get unlimited local calls, caller id, voice mail, call waiting, I also get satallite tv, and dsl computer internet. I think just for the unlimited local I pay like 20, but I did get that all in a package deal for 36 a month I get all the phone stuff.

$19.99 + tax, + $0.01 daytime call, +$0.005 nighttime call...basicly dirt cheap, but I just moved from the middle of nowhere and I didn't have long distance...I only used it for dial-up internet.

You don't have to have a landline for DSL?

Honeykiss1974 07-02-2004 09:57 AM

My bill (this is just phone - no long distance calls, DSL, or nothing) is about $45 a month.

Courtesy of SBC

I am planning to switch to Cox Cable's bundle plan (digital phone, cable, and internet for $89).

The cheapest phone I could get where I live is $25, so we said screw it and just added more minutes onto my cell - I love it.
