Convention 2005
 

Hey girls,
I went to my first convention committee meeting last night. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to pass on. No known them yet. Heck I think the only thing determined is that it is in fact going to be in Arizona from June 22-26, 2005 at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass.

But I did find out some information to pass along...

The registration fees are huge and they include hotel, food and meetings (that non-delagates and delagates are able to attend).

But...

You can just pay to be a "part time" registree and pay for only food and the daily registration fee of $25.00 (if I understood correctly). I heard from two sisters who have been to 8 and 14 conventions in their lifetime, that the meals are "the best times to go to".

Opening banquet they say is extremely nice, so is closing and the old timers.

If I mentioned this already, I'm sorry, but we are waiting for Kathryn to get back to us with what the theme of convention will be so we really can't "plan" anything until we know that. UGH!!!! But our next meeting we are "taking a field trip" to see the site, so I'll let y'all know what the place looks like and stuff. :)

I am highly considering going for 2 reasons now, Beta Tau chapter is up for Golden Lion and since I am an advisor now. Hmmmm....I want to experience the whole thing so I will start saving now!!

I am very much hoping that I can get out there for it...

I'm hoping to make it for convention, too....gotta see which advisor(s) are scheduled for this convention (if I remember correctly, the advisors for my collegiate chapter at least switched every convention), but I'm planning on trying to go no matter what! :D

This makes me want to slate for President in the fall, since we're up for a Golden Lion! I would love to be there!

Ill be there. I am going cause well I want to go. Im on House corp, but that wont get me to go lol. Im going to go and have a blast though. I cant wait......:)

Polarpi, Now that you're the financial advisor, you can make sure they put in their budget to send you! :D

I agree that the banquet meals are the best times to go if you register as a part-timer. It's fun to get dressed up, sing songs, etc. The closing banquet is wonderful. I recommend this one the most-- it is a formal dinner and this is where the awards are given.

I might have to look into that....;)

But I'll probably go either way...need to save up money for this, and for a sister's wedding in New York next August (where I'll probably fly in a few weeks early to do the touristy stuff! :D)

I got the word today from Linda at EO that yes House Corp gets a vote and then I talked to our House Corp president and as long as everyone else is ok with it, I will be the one going for House Corp with my vote. Not to mention Golden Lion. It cant get any better. :)

Bri here I come to stay with you hon. I cant wait. I may have to come out early so I can help ya with your new place. :) You know how much I love to design stuff. lol

You and any other sisters are MORE THAN WELCOME to crash with me. (Just in case some of you don't know, I'm in the process of buying a house that should be done around March-May of next year).

Any updates on the cost for the convention? When we should register by??

I think all of that will start around Januaryish!?! Correct me if I am wrong--an IO would know better than me!
