Favorite Black Female Radio Personalities

Who are some of your favorite black FEMALE radio personalities? Why?

One of my favorites is Olivia Fox, who is now on a radio station in Tampa, but used to be on the Russ Parr Morning Show. I like her because she was down to earth, wasn't caught up on appearances, had a great rapport with Russ Parr but hosted well by herself sometimes, worked with youth, and has some pretty noble philathropies.

I also like Taylor Thomas, the News Director of WKYS here in DC. She hosted an event called the Sister to Sister Sorority luncheon last summer. She has also hosted our Black and Gold Ball. She really cares about the community.

I just wanted to shout out women in radio because I noticed that a lot of men have their names on the shows, but women are the backbone of the programming, more often than not.

Wendy Williams. Why? She's crazy and very entertaining.

Jonesy (Miss Jones). Why? She keeps it real with everyone.

Sybil Wilkes. Why? She's very articulate and is very educated in everything involving Black America.

Wendy Williams....is she syndicated now, or is she with Hot 97, or what?

What station is Miss Jones with?

I know Sybil is with the Tom Joyner Morning show....I like Miss Dupree myself. ;)

I'll have to co-sign with you on that one. She used to have me cracking up when I was in high school. Unfortunately, I don't live in Dallas anymore. :(

Olivia Fox is from my mom's neighborhood. My mom knows her and her family very well. I'm glad to hear she is doing well because my mother spoke to Olivia's mother some time back and said she was still looking for a radio station. Moms told me she was good peeps. Thanks for the update.

I was listening to Russ this morning and they commerical said something like "the least listened to radio station on this side of the Arch". I started crackin up.

She was one of my favorites too. Russ is all I listen to when I listen to the radio. That show is the tight, but was even better with Ms. Foxx. Alfredas is okay, but she can't replace the original.

I love her 2. She is koo, Rep for the West Coast. Even though I don't listen to to much of the radio cause I get sick of them playin the same songs.

You know what I just remembered that I liked about Olivia Fox?

The "Whatever Hater" Trailer Park Lady. WHATEVER HATER! YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!!!

I also like when she and Russ used to sing/talk songs like R. Kelly and Sparkle.

Snap, I bought the Russ Parr Morning Show CD a long time ago, I think I need to listen to it tomorrow!
