Greek Life at USC
I have read so many posts about USC greek life and I just feel like there should be some additional notes.
Both fraternity and sorority recruitment are fun and informal!!! About 800 women go through recruitment for 9 national chapters and one associate chapter, at USC. Sororities dont have skits, they have these fun and cute door chants on two days and a porch song on one day. A lot of people worry about rec letters, but it isnt that important. About 100 women total send out rec letters at USC. An NPC rule states that the responsibility of finding a recomendation for a PNM falls under the responsibility of the sorority. So, my suggestion...register at uscpanhellenic.com, wait for the brochure and then just enjoy. Dont get stressed at all. You have a lot to look forward to. Every woman is lucky to be in any of the GLOs at USC. Awww, dont you just feel the inter-fraternal love? |
Thanks TrojanRush, I've been stressing out for ages about rush simply because I'm from London and I've noone to talk to about it here in England.... what do I wear, will they like me, what shall I expect, do I need recommendations... soo many questions? But I spoke to Maya at USC panhellenic and she was really helpful, so I'm now in the process of getting registered for recruitment and I'm really looking forward to it!
Can't wait to meet everyone at USC this August! |
Im pretty sure that you are going to get a mailer which will explain what to wear and such. I am sure that the girls will like you. All you can base your judgment off of is the interactionthat you have with the women that you meet, well it is the same thing on the flip side. The sorority women will like you based off of conversation...so just relax and have some fun!

Please don't let the phrase "rush is informal" above mislead you. USC has formal sorority rush in the fall. Your recruitment information booklet should outline expected dress code and themes of each day.
Rush at USC is fairly competitive. Go in with an open mind and have fun! |
