PRHOTOTYPE 06-25-2004 01:51 PM

If you could go back 5 years ago to 1999....

Hello Sorhors and Guest,
If you could give the you of five years ago a piece of life altering advice what would it be?

I would tell the Prhototype of 1999 if you caint buy it with cash you don't need it, just say NO to credit cards! And if he hasn't married you by 2001 get out while it is still good.

The Prhototype
Many are called, But the chosen are few, It's too bad, You’re not a Sigma too:p

To the ladylike of 1999: Learn to give to yourself before you give to others.

I was so busy running around making helping others that I didn't have time to help myself.

To the Freshman Queencece of 1999:

NO CREDIT CARDS!!!!

Q

bluethunder 06-29-2004 04:13 PM

oh, this is a good one!

to the blue thunder of 1999:

1. in the words of smokey robinson, "you better shop around!" do not hand your college career up on one person... it is highly likely that he WILL NOT be the one and will kick you to the curb by the fall of your senior year.

2. do not play break up to make up with the individual you should not have hung your whole college career on; it is highly likely that if you broke up once, it was for a VERY good reason.

3. your best friend from high school SHOULD NOT be your college room mate. after you live with somebody, you REALLY find out what they are all about, up close and personal--and you'd be surprised what you didn't know!

4. when you go to college, all the colors are very pretty, but RHOyal blue and gold will fit your individulaity best; don't waste too much time looking around, looking around.

As my Dad told me before he died, I wish I could have eaten the things I couldn't afford at the time that I did, before I got sick. I wished I would have saved in my twenties. Cash only no cards, pay yourself first, Listen to the advice of your trusted friends-one told me to stay a year in my hometown and move on! Also, when I was down south a Phi Mu gave me another piece of good advice in terms of one's career, Don't let anyone hold you back!

jojapeach 07-08-2004 03:11 PM

Do we need to write a book with this advice? I could go on and on...

To the jojapeach of 1999:

CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!!! If you don't have the cash to pay for it now, you don't need it.

Take more silly pictures with your friends, even when y'all are just kicking it, during Senior Year.

Times are gonna change after Clinton is out of office. Brace youself for the drama.

Hip Hop is gonna be a hot mess, but hold on for some real appreciation for your beloved old skool.

DON'T PERM YOUR HAIR AGAIN! Ask some napptural sistas in Atlanta what to do with that five months of new growth. (That was still a painful moment when I permed again.)

If you cut someone out of your life, there's a definite reason for it. Don't try to check on their welfare when they don't give a rat's tail about your welfare.

Lastly, you're not done growing and developing yet. You'll learn about yourself everyday...and the other people in the world, too. Have faith in yourself and humanity, but don't be a fool about it.

Watch your weight! Anything regarding Sigma should be done right from the start!!!

Little32 08-05-2004 11:14 PM

I like this thread.
:D

There are certain things, which you will dismiss, which you should give more consideration to. You might regret this decision later.

There are certain people, whom you might dismiss, that you should give more consideration to or regret it later.

Steer clear of that guy this year, he isn't worth the trouble.

Don't let stupid things ruin good friendships, no matter what.

Lighten up and don't take the whole thing so seriously.

Spend more time with your grandfather.

I will think of more and come back later.
