Lawsuit Information

I need to find out the names of the individuals involved in a lawsuit. How do I do that? The name of the case is Adams v. Richardson.

PM me with some more info such as the state, approximate date of decision, and if you know what court it was in. Those are both VERY common names and it would be near impossible to find the case without them. I'd be happy to look it up for you on Lexis

Do you know in what district the case took place and about what the date was? If so, you can probably look it up on findlaw.com.

ETA: Oh, kddani beat me to it. Findlaw is good if you don't have a subscription to Lexis.

Oops

It was decided in 1973. It was about segregation in higher education. Universities that recieved federal funding cannot discriminate when it comes to race. I believe 10 states were singled out for segregration in 1970, only states I know off hand are Texas and Pennsylvania.

Beat me to it, too.

I had a look on Findlaw but without more details I couldn't say what it is. :)

If it's a civil rights case you might mean:
Adams v. Richardson, 480 F.2d 1159 (D.C. Cir. 1973) ?

(upholding action against HEW under APA for failure to enforce antidiscrimination provisions of Title VI).

That case seems quite popular to cite. On Findlaw.

Kddani would have to help you from then on, as the Lexis sections our site licence gives access to wouldn't carry it. :)

Whoops, I took too long writing the above post!

Oh. Then it is that case then. :)

Some states also have their own excellent lawsuit searching sites.

Check out Oklahoma's:

Yes, some states do, but some states are also very behind the times and their websites are not useful at all. Those are the states that make me angry.

I normally don't have to look up cases though, I spend most of my time searching this and this (those are the long days where I get sleepy). And sometimes the same for individual states (usually VA, GA, NC, SC and TN). Lots of fun!

Ack.

My condolences.

Oklahoma's is really pretty well done. One of the few really nice things about this state.
