Personal Discussion

Hello,
Like many of the other GF's I have questions about the MIP process. I would like to speak to a member personally through email. If someone is willing to email me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanking you in advance,
Carpe

READ THE PEARLS OF WISDOM.

NO ONE IS GOING TO EMAIL YOU SO DON'T WAIT ON IT.

Soror 2D, this character is in YOUR neck of the woods. Hmph. BEWARE!

ETA: Why don't you ask a member that you know personally? You don't know any personally? Guess what? You don't know us, either.

Ideal08 06-23-2004 08:02 PM

Whatever

Because I'm rude, I decided to open this thread back up to let my sorors respond. But let's get one thing straight: I DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING, INCLUDING A PROFESSIONAL RESPONSE TO A REQUEST THAT YOU HAD NO BUSINESS MAKING IN THE FIRST PLACE.

If you had read the Pearls of Wisdom, you wouldn't have posted this in the first place and I would not have had to respond at all.

Now, let the games begin.

If you wanted another opinion, the internet is NOT the place to get it. If you've asked other members, why do you need a second opinion? It's not like a medical practice. You can't PLEDGE online, so why ask questions online???

If it's rude to you, that's cool. I never stepped to a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated when I was an interest and asked ANYTHING about MIP or anything else. Rude is not the word I would use to describe that, but PRESUMPTUOUS comes to mind.

And I love how you tell me how I should respond to you. I didn't have to respond at all. I could have deleted the thread period. I'm tellin' y'all. This is a whole new day.

I stand by everything that I said. Rude and unprofessional as you may think it is, I STAND BY MY WORDS. You don't like it, SO WHAT.

You lucky AKA2D '91 didn't respond. My response was SOFT compared to what you could have gotten.

You are not the first person I've responded to in this manner. I also enjoy copying and pasting ridiculous IM's that are sent to me. Allow me to pull up an old thread: YOU'VE GOT MAD ISSUES.

***walking into post with a master lock, handing it to Ideal08***

Soror, you were not rude, you and AKA2D'91 have a job to do. That's all. WE WHO KNOW THE RULES UNDERSTAND!!!

Nope, Soror, I'm not locking it. I want to leave it open for all of our nice sorors to respond to her. I would hate to be viewed as the rude Alpha Kappa Alpha woman. I want to give the rest of my sorors a chance. You see, my original response was not only rude, but it was unprofessional. I didn't need to put her down to make my point. I concede. Because I am conceding, I would like to give the rest of my sorors a chance to respond. After all, it's the only fair thing to do. I wouldn't want other prospective members and interests to be turned off by my response. Especially when I know and understand how badly we are hurting for members.

I tried to e-mail you, but for some reason, I wasn't able to. Hmmm, I wonder what that's about???
;)

BTW, before you responded to my soror, did you get around to READING the Pearls of Wisdom?

Steeltrap 06-23-2004 08:22 PM

Rude?

Not hardly, IMO.

Perhaps I have a skewed view of this, because I didn't come to GC until after I became a soror. But I would think the logical thing to do is make PERSONAL CONTACT with members on your campus or in your community, if you are interested in graduate membership.

We can't vote anybody in. GC should only be part of your research.

That's just the thing, we don't know what type of membership she is interested in. She just wants someone to blindly email her (a brand new poster that NOBODY knows) so she can interrogate us about MIP. Now, what soror is going to do that? Hmm? Anyone, anyone? Bueller, Bueller?

*crickets*

That's what I thought.

She said she did make personal contact with members. She came here because she wants a second opinion.

Where is Soror Soulfulremix????? She and I were cyber buddies for a WHILE before she EVER asked me ANYTHING even remotely related to Alpha Kappa Alpha. THAT'S how it should be done. There are no FREEBIES being handed out on the 'net. PERIOD.

Why??? If I made contact with members in my community (if grad membership) or members of the chapter at my school (undergrad membership), why would I need the opinion of random chicks on the internet?? Again, we cannot vote on you (and if we could  ).

I knew NOTHING about Greek life when I started out as an interest and I stiiiiiiiiiill would never have even THOUGHT to ask this question. Because I had RESPECT for my organization then, and I have it now, unlike you.

Soror Ideal, your response echoed the way I felt when I read this question COMPLETELY.

CarpeDiem 04,

Don't pay no mind to those RUDE AKAs. They're unprofessional like that. Now DST on the other hand, we are polite and professional. I'll talk to you. What do you want to know???
*evil grin*

BTW, reading IS fundamental.
