Obviously, I prefer the fondant-style cakes.


There's also a very simple one that I saw, two squares with pale blue fondant icing, and a monogram on the side, that I really liked.

When one of my sisters got married to an SAE, their wedding cake started at the bottom with replicas of each pin (ADPi & SAE), and each went up for 3 layers, then there was a staircase to connect the two cakes to a third cake - it was 6' tall!! There were also over 650 people there, the bridesmaids wore azure blue, and carried violets - it was kinda "over the top"!

OMG, I love this cake!!!! :eek: (Might have to add this to the dream fantasy wedding! ;) )

I've already started looking at bridesmaid dresses and wedding gowns (maybe that's a side effect of being in two sisters' weddings in the next year and attending a wedding within the past month, but who knows? :D), so I could post links to each one, but that would take too much time!

Needless to say, I think I already have my bridesmaids (and one groomsman) already picked out, so now all I realy need is the groom! ;) :D

Dream Weddings
 

I've been thinking alot about my wedding due to the fact my boyfriend and I have been to 12 weddings in two years.

And my boyfriend isn't keen on my dream wedding of Elvis, Vegas and a drive-thru chapel.

This is what I know so far:

1) There won't be any classical music. I can't stand the thought of listening to another person butchering some of my favorite classical standards so I'm going to have jazz music played preferably by a live New Orleans Jazz band

2) I'm not wearing a veil, I'm going to have magnolias in my hair.

Let me just preface this by saying my boyfriend thinks I am completely nuts.... He said he understands that girls dream of and plan their wedding since they are little, but that I am the only one he knows that has one planned for every month of the year!

So, with that said, I do have one "planned" for every season. Except summer- I will not have a summer wedding. I live in the south- it's too dang hot and humid to get dressed up in the summer.

First of all is the dress (refer to the "What is your faveorite thread", it is described there). I want beautiful flowers, not too many, but they must be gorgeous. I want the ceremony to be short and sweet; also, my groom must cry! Tears of joy and happiness, of course.

This is getting very long winded already... I'll leave it at that.
ps- I should probably get engaged first, what do ya'll think?

Ohhh I love weddings!!!

My dream wedding will include:

The engagement ring:
The dress (which hopefully my mom will make -- a replica of the dress Audrey Hepburn wore in 'Roman Holiday')

The accessories: (which I already own.. hehehe.. once again, replica of what Adurey Hepburn wore in Roman Holiday)

I also want Cinderella slippers, a white carriage with horses for me and my new hubby to leave the church in, a string quartet and all my best friends and family there :)

Oh yea, and a big white cake with roses !

All I dream of for my wedding is...

An open bar and karaoke at the reception.

hehehe one of my friends who got married last year had an open bar and karaoke at their reception, and it was the most fun I've ever had at a wedding :)

Ok, so this is probably cheating since my wedding is about 40 days away, but here is the website where I have all my planning stuff. My wedding in August is my dream wedding (minus the string quartet...the only one in town is on vacation that week). It may not be the most elaborate or expensive, but its definitely the one I have always dreamed of. Honeymoon too!

OMG, FD, you and I like the same dress! (Okay, so it's ONE of the dresses I've bookmarked as my favorite, but still, that just means we ADPis have a great sense of style! :D )

When I get a chance, I'll post some pictures and styles I like for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses (when all your friends start getting married is when you REALLY start looking at all this stuff! ;) )

TexasPrincess, OMG, I love the dress!! I have never seen that movie, but that is exactly the dress that I have always dreamed of and I love Audrey Hepburn!!

So my dream wedding consist of the dress TexasPrincess showed, my colors are lavendar and silver. My bridesmaid's flowers will be hidrainas (spelling) and possibly have violets in them too. I want lavendar roses. My engagement ring must be white gold (if someone proposes to me with yellow gold, I will say "NO." He should know me well enough to know that i hate yellow gold. My mom says that is very self centered, but I don't see it that way) princess cut Past, Present, and Future ring with small diamonds around the band. Well, that is the dream at least, as long as it is white gold, I will be ok though. My cake humm, well i want to be the three layers on top of each other (no tiers) with hidrainas and violets on it. I think I know more of what I want than my twin sister does and she is the one that is engaged. Oh yeah,I either want it at a plantation or a river boat. Since my sister's is at a plantation, I am leaning towards the river boat. All I need is to get engaged adn I don't think that will be any time soon. I just started dating someone a litttle over a month ago!! Ok, that was long winded!!
