Sleep

I am just curious on average how many hours of sleep we all get at night? What is our age-range? Profession? What time do you go to bed and get up in the morning? How do you wake yourself up on the weekends especially to go out after a long tiring work week?

Sleep...I generally sleep 8 hours, to bed at 11 and up at 7...profession is speech pathologist (I work in a hospital) and I'm 28. As for weekends, I'm usually dead on Fridays but if I get a few extra hours that night I'm fine for saturday to stay up and head out. It never feels like enough, I don't know how people with kids who work full time do it!

I am on the same schedule pretty much and I totally agree, I don't know how they do it. I am also 28 and some people who I know who hang out till all hours make fun of me for wanting to go home around 1 or2 if "i'm tired".

I work with a group of girls all about my age and we all get teased by our husbands for being 'grandmas' who can't stay up anymore, but at least I'm glad I'm not alone in that!

My response to everyone like that is always "I've already lived my college experience, I don't need to be out till all hours anymore":D

Amen! I'm too old for that! :)

OK this may spark up some controversy but I think people in their late 30's and beyond who "party hard" every night and do things like we may have done in college have some issues going on.

Speechpath 06-22-2004 09:20 PM

yeah, I kinda look at them funny myself and think, it's too late for you, you gotta pack it up and head home. Esp. if they party with college kids!

And I think you are sheltered and a trifle naive. But I mean that affectionately. ;)

I usually don't sleep because I'm too busy talking shit about GCers in my LJ.

Tippiechick 06-23-2004 12:22 AM

Right now, I am getting an average of 3-4 hours of sleep per night. This is total -- not straight sleeping time. He wakes up about every other hour or so. Factor in diaper changes and feedings, and there isn't much time left for sleeping. My mother-in-law usually takes him for a couple of hours during the day so that I can get a short nap in. I miss sleep...

Agreed. Unless they are partying with lettered shot glasses because I could see issues there.

Anyway, I leave sleep for the weak. I've been getting about 3-4 hours a night.

You're right. We should be at home doing normal things like starting upwards of 2500 threads per night on message boards.

amycat, do you want to head to Christopher and Banks for some hot new fashions soon? I think you could see the tippy top of my cleavage on the shirt I wore today.
