Would you if you were me?

I'll be a senior this fall. I transfered schools at the end of my sophomore year. The new school kind of screwed me (they lied about how long it would take to get through a specific degree program), so I was forced to change my major at the end of my Jr year. I don't know if I will be able to get a job with this new major. I can't afford to go to school for much longer (I have 3 semesters left).

I am thinking about applying to the Air Force Officer training school. I want to go back to school and get my nursing degree and I know that the air force will pay for it.

My question is, knowing what is going on currently with the war on terrorism and Iraq issues, should I do this? would you do it if you were me? what would you think would be the Pros/Cons? Is anyone in the Air Force? or know someone who is or who has followed a similar route?

I just want to be better informed before I send in my application.

If you ever get involved with something in the military, you should always expect that you could be called off to duty. I think you may be setting yourself up for heartbreak if you don't go into it that way (even in times of reduced conflict).

If you're not prepared to be involved in combat/conflict, I wouldn't join.

This is really all that needs to be said. If you don't think you can meet the worst demand they would ask of you, don't do it.

Co-sign. ESPECIALLY if you're an officer, you can just expect to get called up. I know officers in the army reserves who totally enjoy it. Our chapter's main advisor is a full colonel and just getting back from Afghanistan.
