i know school is over but...
im posting this here because this is the thread i post most often.
okay, next semester i am working on an independent study on HBCUs. now that is very broad, so i need to narrow it. ill be doin this in two parts--first semester studying its history and the current state of HBCUs (which is still broad). the second semster, i plan to participate in an HBCU exchange at my school (im leaning towards spelman, but i need to research the other schools a bit more before i decide). a bit of "theory vs. practice." cant get the full experience w/o being in the environment, right? anyway, im looking for books, videos, articles, websites, and/or people that would give me a jumpstart on whih way i can turn my research. admittedly, i havent had much time, with this new job and all, but i need to have an outline of what i'll be doing by the first week of july. with that said, any1 have any input? would be greatly appreciated. perhaps itll be better to PM me, just to keep bandwidth lower, or whatever, but open discussion is cool too. |
I know you are not trying to make us think while school is out ;)
Let's see....your topics are broad. What exactly are you trying to research? The pros and cons of attending an HBCU? The effects an HBCU education has on an individual? Maybe you can start interviewing people that went to HBCU's on their experiences and maybe that can help you narrow down your topic. HTH |
