SYRACUSE, New York (AP) -- A man was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for raping his 11-year-old daughter, who hanged herself shortly afterward.

Timothy Lucie, 46, was convicted last month of rape, sodomy and child endangerment.

He stood stoically as Onondaga County Judge William Walsh imposed the maximum back-to-back sentences of 25 years to life for the rape and sodomy charges.

He was accused of sexually assaulting his daughter, Valerie, in the shower at their Syracuse home on September 30.

Hours later, her 8-year-old brother found her hanging from her bedpost by a dog collar and leash in what police said was an apparent suicide.

The only thing I can add is that there is NOTHING on the face of the earth that can even come near what the Lord has in store for this sick b-d!

That poor, poor child!

My heart goes out to the mother and the children left to live through this. I imagine that his punishment for the next 50 years will be to continuously be sodomized and raped by the men he'll live with! He'll get to understand what his daughter felt over and over again... I think I'd rather that than to end his life by the death sentence.

I hope that sick Bastard rots in Hell!!!

I saw this on the news last night and I was horrified!!! A child looks to a parent to protect and care for them. What he did violates that!!! My heart goes out to her family....may they be blessed. And as for him.....he will have to answer for his crime over and over again in jail!!! May God have mercy on his soul!!!

Thanks for correcting me. I misread where her brother found her and thought that he committed suicide, too.:o
