Moore Kept Quiet About Prisoner Footage

Filmmaker Michael Moore had footage of prisoner abuse in Iraq long before the atrocities captured international attention, but decided to stay quiet until his new movie came out. Now he's questioning that decision. "I had it months before the story broke on '60 Minutes,' and I really struggled with what to do with it," Moore told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I wanted to come out with it sooner, but I thought I'd be accused of just putting this out for publicity for my movie. That prevented me from making maybe the right decision."
Moore captured the footage for his documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11," which debuts in theaters nationwide June 25. It shows an American soldier fondling a prisoner's genitals through a blanket. Soldiers also laugh and pose for photos while putting hoods over Iraqi detainees.

Wow, what a patriot:rolleyes:

So, he's holding out until now to put out a press release about it to promote his "documentary" when he finally found a distributor that would carry it?

Yeah, what a patriot.

Thats not fair. Releasing it or not has nothing to do with patriotism.

I suppose you're right.

How about I just question the timeliness of this press release in relation to his soon-to-be released "documentary"?

What I guess I should have said is that this fella really has one aim with his "documentaries" -- to make his pocketbook fatter than he is.

Oh yeah he does. If he was concerned about the timing of his admissions, why tell the media just before the release?

I wonder if it's even real.

Pretty easy to say you had it all along and are just now releasing it.
