Who's Been Screwed By Campus Housing?!?!?
So my school is buiding brand new apartments for upperclassmen. four bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen with dishwasher, balocny, and washer and dryern in unit. They were supposed to be completed by the start of the fall semester. The contract didnt go through so the completion date was pushed back to October and now January 7th. So my school has to pu 400 students somewhere do they decide to put us in hotels, The Days Inn, Comfort Inn, and the Dartmouth Motor Inn.
MY friends and I didnt mind the hotel, we actually thought it was kinda cool. So we got to choose which hotel we wanted to live in so we chose the Comfort Inn. Living there we had 1500 dollars for our meal plan to use at the 99 Pub and Restaurant or the Texas Roadhouse and 400 dollars to use on campus at the eateries. Also the hotel was strategically placed next to the package store aka liqour store. So my bro calls me today and tells me that the Comfort Inn is no longer an option. Some stupid reason that housing didnt have enough money or something. So now we have two new options: me and my three bros can live in the current upper class apartments and be split up for a semester or live in the freshman halls and stay together for a semester. I feel like we are being screwed. We werre doing the university a favor by signing up for the hotel in the first place, and now we are being sh#t on! Where would you choose to live? PS: A positive side of this is that it would be easier to recruit since we would be living with the freshmen. |
I would split up and go to the freshman halls. like you said.. recruitment would be awesome for you. :)
(I don't know how close all 4 of you are, or how close you are with each of them on an individual basis..) But, if you room with 1 brother for a semester, you could strengthen a bond, or even create a new super strong one? Just my $0.02 :) |
I know how you feel about campus housing this year res. life decided to put a bunch of freshmen in one of the halls that is typically upperclassmen, we don't have a certain freshmen dorm according to them but there is one that none of the upperclassmen want so usually freshmen get it. So room selection didn't really go our way. If I were you I would just live with the freshmen, like you said it wuld help with recruitment.
