Question!
Hey ladies,
I have a question for you. I transferred schools last fall and was going to affiliate with the Chi O chapter at my new school but now I'm having second thoughts. First of all, they told me I wouldn't be able to affiliate until second semester because I needed an established GPA, which I totally understood. When second semester came around I was required to pay dues and go to chapter even though I wasn't affiliated yet, not to mention I wasn't allowed to go to ANY social functions what-so-ever. We had 4 affiliates total, and we were told that we would be affiliated in february. Well next they told us that they didn't turn the paperwork in and we wouldn't be affiliated until September. Anyway, I am going to be a senior and I completely missed out on a year of Chi O. This chapter is REALLY unorganized (yet suprisingly really good) and I am not even sure I want to affiliate anymore. Like I said I am going to be a senior and need to take 18 hours next semester to graduate on time, and I don't know that I will have time to be active. Basically I just want to know what you guys think...I don't want to deactivate. Would I be able to go alum? Any advice would be wonderful! Thanks so much!!! |
gosh!!! That does not sound like a lot of fun. I'm sorry you couldn't affiliate in a timely fashion. I would call national HQ and ask about the policy.

I agree with Michelle. You should contact National as they would know best what you should do.

Hmm, I wonder if you are trying to affiliate at my old chapter! :p Just kidding... I third calling National and checking with them. Initially I would have said you can get alum status and not affiliate, but since you have already paid dues, that might be an issue. I really don't know though. I would try Angie Alpert.
