What Would You Do?

What would you do . . .

(1) If you've met the person who was responsible for making the virus that infected your computer causing you to loose valuable informations and times?

(2) If you've met the referee that ruled incorrectly against your team that cost them the championship?

Assuming we're in a dark alley...heh heh.

1) Find out where they live -- then go buy one of those electromagnet tape erasers and hold it next to their hard drive for a few minutes.

2) Probably nothing. Mistakes happen -- and whether he ruled rightly or wrongly is often something that fans on different sides will disagree on. Remember, after careful review of the footage, the Miami player in the 2003 NC vs. Ohio State DID actually commit pass interferance in the End Zone (a penalty that basically cost Miami the NC).

1) Report him to the proper authorities and hope that justice is served.

2) Nothing - they have a hard job and have to make quick judgement calls. We all make mistakes.

1) Most viruses penetrate known and sometimes patched security holes and most of the people that get infected either failed to install proper updates or opened/clicked on something they shouldn't have.

2)There was a Nuggets/Lakers game this season that a ref actually got fined or suspended for (I don't remember which.) He blew a call involving possesion of the ball and whether or not the ball had hit the rim. Everyone blamed the ref for the outcome of that game when in fact the Nuggets had a) blown a 13 point lead in the final minutes b) failed to block a three point shooter in a two point game at the buzzer. The ref didn't lose that game the team did and it's a pretty rare game that comes down to a single play anyway.

It's all about personal accountability.
